Motion Designer

We're looking for an experienced Motion Designer to join our remote team in South Africa. At Empathy Lab, we help the world's most ambitious brands turn data and AI into real commercial outcomes. That's a story worth telling well, and we need someone who can bring it to life frame by frame.

Empathy Lab by EPAM is an AI-native agency within a leading global software engineering company. Around you will be a creative collective of designers, writers, filmmakers, strategists, producers, 3D experts and other iconoclasts, working shoulder to shoulder with some of the best technologists in the world. Responsibilities

• Create powerful stories through motion design that capture and engage audiences
• Apply strong knowledge of storytelling, rhythm, composition and pace to all projects
• Use a variety of 2D and 3D animation software to produce high-quality content
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in visual and motion design
• Draw from a broad pool of references and inspiration to inform creative work
• Partner with creative team members and key stakeholders to develop content for web, mobile, video and other platforms
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong project management skills
• Meet with clients to understand needs and share creative ideas
• Communicate clearly, interpret feedback and meet tight deadlines
• Maintain compliance with company guidelines and design standards

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or equivalent diploma desired
• Two to three years of experience in a studio or agency setting
• Strong technical skills in 2D and 3D animation software, including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Frame.io, Unreal and Figma
• Experience with social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
• Familiarity with After Effects expressions, Trapcode Suite, VideoCopilot Element 3D, Plexus and 3D integration
• Ability to build creative and unique ideas
• Confidence to communicate and present ideas to peers
• Flexibility to adapt ideas to suit client expectations
• Aptitude to work constructively under stress in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms
• Innovative approach to advertising execution

• Notions, skills or passion for generative AI video content
• Notions, skills or passion for Unreal Engine or Unity
• Notions, skills or passion for 3D tools such as Blender
