OVERVIEW:

The Museum Store Intern will help drive growth of the Museum Store's online sales. In Part One, the intern will research and build a marketing plan, meeting with internal Business Sales and Strategy Marketing team members as well as external contacts like the Museum Store Association and industry experts, then present a plan with 2 to 3 strategies, supporting tactics, and revenue metrics to Museum Store leadership. In Part Two, the intern will implement that plan by learning the back-end operations of the Shopify website, improving the site's layout, adding new products, and presenting the results of their work.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather knowledge internally and externally to inform a Museum Store online sales strategy
  • Build a marketing plan with 2 to 3 strategies, supporting tactics, and revenue metrics
  • Present the finalized plan to Business Sales and Strategy and Museum Store leadership
  • Learn the back-end operations of the Shopify website
  • Enhance the website's layout and product presentation, and implement changes
  • Add 50 additional items to the website
  • Present results of the implemented plan to Museum Store leadership

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of more than one year of college coursework
  • Preferred major or field of study: digital marketing or retail
  • Working knowledge of website structure
  • Experience or coursework in building a marketing plan
  • Understanding of how to motivate adult shoppers purchasing for children
  • Desire to have a measurable impact
  • Part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week
