National Account Manager (Bilingual French/English)
Remote with local travel| Quebec & Ottawa region
Are you the person people call when something needs to get solved?
If you’re confident with people, calm under pressure, and you genuinely enjoy making things work for customers, we’d like to talk to you. You don’t need a background in waste management. We’ll teach you the industry. What we can’t teach is the way you build trust, follow through, and find solutions.
Salary: $55k to $60k with uncapped commission
Position Type: Existing Vacancy
About Waste Solutions Canada
We’re one of Canada’s largest independent waste and recycling management companies, and a leader in smart waste technology from coast to coast. We’ve been named to the Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies six years in a row, we’ve been Great Place to Work® certified for five consecutive years, and in 2025 we were recognized as one of the Best Workplaces for Mental Wellness and Inclusion in Canada.
The Role
You’ll be the go-to person for a group of our larger clients, organizations with locations across several provinces, such as healthcare facilities / senior living residences. You’ll work with their head office teams (operations, procurement, sustainability) and with the people running each site day-to-day, making sure everything runs smoothly and that clients feel looked after.
What You’ll Do
- Be the main point of contact for your clients, building relationships with both head office and on-site teams
- Solve service issues quickly, working with our operations team to get things fixed and keep clients happy
- Check in regularly to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what clients need next
- Spot opportunities to add services or improve how clients manage their waste and recycling
- Help bring new client locations on board smoothly
- Support contract renewals and discussions with clients, with guidance from our senior team
- Work with our finance, operations, and sustainability teams to deliver solutions
- Travel occasionally to client sites in Ottawa and Quebec [approx. X days per month]
Who You Are
You might be coming from customer service, account management, hospitality, property or facilities management, logistics, or another role where you were the person customers relied on. You’re likely a good fit if you:
- Enjoy building relationships and are comfortable speaking with everyone from site staff to senior decision-makers
- Stay calm when something goes wrong and focus on fixing it
- Take ownership and follow through on what you promise
- Are organized and can juggle several clients and priorities at once
- Communicate confidently in both French and English, spoken and written
What You’ll Need
- Fluency in French and English (written and verbal)
- 2+ years in a customer-facing role where you managed relationships or resolved customer issues
- Comfort with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
Nice to Have (but not required)
- Experience in waste management, facilities services, or a related industry
- Experience working with clients that have multiple locations
- Experience with a CRM system
- A post-secondary degree or diploma
How We’ll Set You Up for Success
You’ll get onboarding and training on our services, systems, and the waste industry, plus support from an experienced team that’s happy to help you learn!
What We Offer
- $55,000–$60,000 base salary plus uncapped commission
- Remote work with flexibility
- Mileage and cellphone reimbursement
- A choice of benefits plans and RRSP matching
- A day off for your birthday, a wellness benefit, volunteer hours, and company events
- A supportive team and a culture that’s been recognized year after year
