About This Opportunity
Join Australia's National Imaging Facility (NIF), a world class collaborative network that provides open access to advanced imaging infrastructure, expertise, tools, data and analysis. This newly created national role offers the opportunity to shape and strengthen clinical trial capability across NIF's Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) network. Working closely with the Human Molecular Imaging Network Clinical Trial Coordinator and reporting to the HIRF Director, you will play a pivotal role in establishing nationally consistent approaches to clinical trial engagement, governance, coordination and capability development across 14 participating nodes throughout Australia.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced clinical trial professional to create meaningful impact through a collaborative, visionary and purpose driven national network.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and implementation of nationally consistent clinical trial governance, coordination and capability frameworks across the NIF MRI network.
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with researchers, clinicians, medical physicists, clinical trial cooperative groups, sponsors, CROs, research organisations and industry partners.
- Coordinating and overseeing multicentre clinical research projects, including trial start-up activities, ethics and governance processes, site activation, contracting and stakeholder engagement.
- Driving improvements in data management, central data review, imaging quality processes, image repositories, education initiatives and network-wide clinical trial capability.
Please note this position is advertised externally as National Clinical Trials Lead, MRI Network to reflect its national scope and strategic focus. Within UQ, the role is classified as Senior Principal Clinical Trials Coordinator.
About You
You are a collaborative and highly experienced clinical trials professional who is passionate about strengthening research capability and creating positive change through nationally coordinated initiatives. You thrive in complex stakeholder environments, exercise sound professional judgement, and enjoy building connections across organisations and disciplines.
You will demonstrate:

- Significant experience leading and/or coordinating clinical trial operations, programs or multicentre research activities within a health, research or academic environment.
- Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), human research ethics, governance and Australian clinical trial regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to build productive relationships and work effectively with researchers, clinicians, sponsors, CROs and other stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, project management and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously within a distributed national network.
The following would be highly regarded:
- Experience working within a CRO, sponsor organisation, clinical trial network or coordinating centre.
- Knowledge of Australian clinical trial regulatory pathways (CTN/CTA) and experience supporting trial start-up activities, including ethics, governance, contracting and site activation processes.
