About the role
DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced National Logistics Manager to join our growing Rail Division.
Reporting to the Operations Manager - Plant, this critical leadership role is responsible for the strategic management, operational deployment, and lifecycle governance of DT Infrastructure's national fleet of light vehicles and mobile plant assets across our Rail and Infrastructure divisions.
The National Logistics Manager will drive fleet performance, asset utilisation, and capital investment planning across all DTI proposed assets while ensuring the highest standards of regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and operational readiness. Working closely with operational stakeholders nationwide, you will play a key role in optimising asset availability, supporting project delivery, and delivering long-term value across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the national management of DT Infrastructure’s light vehicle and mobile plant fleet, including procurement, leasing, deployment, utilisation, maintenance, and end-of-life disposal strategies.
- Manage multi-million-dollar capital expenditure budgets and fleet investment programs, delivering cost-effective asset solutions that support operational and project delivery requirements across Australia.
- Oversee the mobilisation, allocation, and logistics of fleet and plant assets, ensuring equipment availability, operational readiness, and alignment with project schedules and shutdown programs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), WHS, and client-specific requirements, while championing a strong safety-first culture across the business.
- Develop and manage strategic supplier and vendor partnerships, driving commercial performance, service excellence, cost efficiencies, and continuous improvement across fleet and logistics operations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the logistics function, fostering high performance, collaboration, innovation, and alignment with DT Infrastructure's values and business objectives.
Experience and capabilities
- Extensive experience in senior logistics, fleet management, plant operations, or asset management roles within the construction, civil, rail, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record managing large-scale fleet and plant portfolios, including multi-million-dollar capital expenditure programs, asset lifecycle planning, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management requirements, and Australian Work Health & Safety legislation.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to influence stakeholders, build high-performing teams, and foster a strong culture of safety, quality, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Hands-on experience with fleet management, telematics, and asset tracking systems, supported by strong analytical, reporting, and organisational skills.
- Collaborative and commercially minded professional with excellent communication skills, capable of managing competing priorities and partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
