The engineer contributes to complex, multi-disciplinary projects, collaborates closely with project teams, and has significant opportunities for professional growth, development, and involvement in large-scale utility work across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate daily with the project manager to coordinate engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with project goals and schedules.
  • Lead and support the design and production of pipelines and facility-related mechanical systems for oil and gas projects.
  • Design cross-country and distribution pipelines, meter and regulatory facilities, separators, gas heaters, launcher/receivers, mainline valves, and interconnecting piping.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team of engineers and designers, including local and remote team members.
  • Apply and adhere to relevant industry codes and regulations, including ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195.
  • Travel to client meetings and project sites to perform field reviews and collaborate with clients and their preferred contractors, with an expectation of approximately 10% travel.
  • Model and perform pipe stress analyses using software such as CAESAR II to ensure safe and reliable pipeline design.
  • Size pipelines and perform process flow modeling using programs such as HYSYS to optimize system performance.
  • Incorporate an understanding of site civil grading and drainage into project designs to ensure proper site development and infrastructure performance.
  • Contribute to gas utility projects in the resources group, including water, gas, and electric utility work, supporting transmission and distribution gas lines across the east coast.
  • Participate in major projects and collaborate with a nationwide team to deliver successful outcomes for utility clients.
Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in oil and gas, utilities, or closely related fields.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Proficiency with CAESAR II or similar software for pipe stress analysis.
  • Experience with process flow modeling tools such as HYSYS for pipeline and facility design.
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.4 and ASME B31.8 pipeline codes.
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 and Part 195 regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with pipeline design, compressor stations, and related oil and gas infrastructure.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering and design team.
  • Strong understanding of site civil grading and drainage principles.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% for client meetings and field reviews.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using Plant 3D for pipeline and facility modeling.
  • Experience with Civil 3D or similar civil design software.
  • Background in gas utility projects, including transmission and distribution lines.
  • Exposure to water and electric utility work within a broader resources group.
  • Interest in long-term career growth, professional development, and participation in an employee-owned company structure.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers, clients, and contractors.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, nationwide project team environment.
Work Environment

The role is part of a fun, collaborative, and employee-focused engineering environment that emphasizes teamwork and shared success. The work schedule is flexible once familiar with the team and project workload, with a typical shift of approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a hybrid basis. The position offers the ability to work remotely, as there is no brick-and-mortar office location, while requiring presence in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area to visit client sites as needed.
