The Role
We are seeking an experienced Natural Resources Manager to lead the assessment, management, development, conservation, and sustainable utilization of natural resources across organizational projects and operations.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in natural-resource management with strategic planning, environmental awareness, regulatory knowledge, project management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and commercial understanding.
The role will be responsible for developing resource-management strategies, assessing resource opportunities and risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating technical studies, monitoring resource performance, and supporting sustainable development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement natural resource management strategies aligned with organizational objectives, sustainability commitments, regulatory requirements, and long-term resource plans.
- Lead the assessment, planning, development, utilization, conservation, and monitoring of natural resources within relevant operational areas.
- Conduct resource assessments and evaluate resource availability, quality, potential, constraints, development requirements, and long-term sustainability.
- Coordinate technical studies covering geology, hydrology, ecology, environmental conditions, land use, resource availability, and other relevant natural-resource disciplines.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Environmental, HSE, Sustainability, Geology, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Project Management teams.
- Develop resource-management plans covering extraction, utilization, conservation, restoration, monitoring, environmental protection, and operational requirements.
- Monitor resource performance and ensure resource utilization remains aligned with approved plans, permits, environmental requirements, and sustainability objectives.
- Evaluate opportunities to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste, minimize environmental impacts, and enhance long-term resource value.
- Support feasibility studies and investment assessments for natural-resource projects, infrastructure initiatives, resource development programs, and environmental projects.
- Conduct economic and commercial assessments of resource-development opportunities, including capital requirements, operating costs, resource potential, risks, and expected returns.
- Develop and maintain natural-resource databases, GIS information, technical records, resource inventories, monitoring data, permits, project documentation, and management reports.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators covering resource utilization, environmental performance, operational efficiency, compliance, project performance, and sustainability outcomes.
- Coordinate environmental and resource monitoring programs to identify changes, risks, degradation, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure resource-management activities comply with applicable environmental legislation, land-use requirements, permits, regulatory standards, HSE requirements, and organizational policies.
- Maintain effective relationships with government authorities, regulators, landowners, local communities, consultants, contractors, technical experts, and other external stakeholders.
- Support regulatory applications, licensing, permitting, approvals, environmental assessments, resource-management plans, and regulatory reporting.
- Identify environmental, operational, technical, regulatory, financial, and stakeholder risks associated with natural-resource activities.
- Develop risk assessments and mitigation strategies to protect natural assets, operational continuity, organizational reputation, and long-term resource value.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, environmental specialists, surveyors, laboratories, technical advisors, and other external service providers.
- Review technical reports, environmental assessments, resource studies, monitoring results, feasibility studies, management plans, and consultant deliverables.
- Support land-use planning, rehabilitation, restoration, conservation, biodiversity, water-management, waste-management, and environmental improvement initiatives where applicable.
- Develop resource conservation and sustainability programs designed to improve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements, environmental standards, climate-related risks, resource markets, technology, and industry best practices.
- Evaluate new technologies and management approaches that can improve resource assessment, monitoring, conservation, utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare strategic reports, technical presentations, investment recommendations, risk assessments, management plans, and executive-level updates.
- Provide technical and strategic advice to senior management and executive leadership on resource opportunities, constraints, risks, compliance, and long-term sustainability.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate should have strong experience in natural-resource management, environmental management, geology, mining, water resources, forestry, land management, energy, sustainability, or a related discipline.
The specific technical background may vary depending on the organization's resource portfolio, with experience in resource assessment, environmental management, resource development, conservation, or regulatory compliance being particularly valuable.
Experience working across complex infrastructure, energy, mining, land development, environmental, water, or resource-management projects would be advantageous.
