• The people we support often experience the biggest barriers to engaging with services and are most in need of our support. This could be people living with disabilities that are at risk of becoming homeless, living with neurological conditions, interfacing with the justice system, children at risk, people expressing their unmet needs through 'behaviours of concern', people coming in or out of the hospital system, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Our Positive Behaviour Support team is BRAND NEW and will work alongside our established Specialist Support Coordination team, to grow our impact supporting people with the most complex needs in our community.

• This is an exciting opportunity to help build a new clinical team from the ground up and shape how we deliver Positive Behaviour Support, alongside a Director who is genuinely invested in getting this right.
• Work locaton is flexible with team day Fridays together in our Bibra Lake office. Work from home, out in the community across Perth Metro, or use our Bibra Lake office as your base whenever it suits you.
• We arrange and pay for high-quality external weekly clinical supervision (group and individual), so you're never navigating complex or high-risk presentations without support.

What we’re looking for:

• A Proficient or Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework who wants genuine autonomy without sacrificing support.
• Someone who understands that effective Positive Behaviour Support is built on curiosity, strong clinical reasoning, meaningful relationships, and a genuine commitment to people's rights and quality of life.
• Someone confident in their practice but who continues to ask questions, and who can work independently while staying connected and collaborative with the team.
• Person-centred, compassionate, organised, and excited to help build something new within an established, well-run business.
• While it's a full-time position, there's flexibility in how you structure your week and hours around participant visits, documentation and team connection days.

A pathway to leadership

• You'll be our first Positive Behaviour Support hire, which means genuine influence over how the service is built, not just how it runs once it's set.
• As the team grows, there is a clear pathway toward a future Clinical Lead / Team Lead role— providing clinical supervision, quality review and leadership to the wider PBS team.
• Leadership isn't expected on day one. It's an opportunity for the right person to grow into as caseload and team size build.

The successful applicant will:

• Provide Positive Behaviour Support to Circle SC participants with complex support needs and complex life situations.
• Complete comprehensive functional behaviour assessments and develop high-quality, person-centred Behaviour Support Plans.
• Develop behavioural formulations informed by multiple sources of evidence, not just observed behaviour in isolation.
• Identify the environmental, relational, communication, sensory, health and contextual factors that influence behaviour and quality of life.
• Work collaboratively with participants, their families, and the people who know them best.
• Support implementation through coaching, education and stakeholder training.
• Provide practical, clinically sound recommendations that can actually be implemented in real-world environments.
• Support the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices.
• Identify and appropriately respond to restrictive practices and safeguarding concerns.
• Work within the requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
• Collaborate with Circle SC's Specialist Support Coordination team and other providers to keep everyone on the same page.
• Monitor outcomes and adapt strategies based on evidence and participant experience.
• Maintain high-quality, accurate clinical documentation on our practice management system.
• Write high-quality reports and communicate complex clinical information clearly, including in 'NDIS language'.
• Contribute to reflective practice, case discussion, and the ongoing development of the PBS team.
• Be able to assertively set boundaries and implement self-care strategies.
• Contribute positively to team culture, celebrate others' successes, and take ownership of mistakes or setbacks.
• Manage competing priorities and meet regulatory timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
• Support mentoring and emerging leadership activities where appropriate — there is a genuine pathway toward a future Clinical Lead / Team Lead role as our PBS team grows.

Employee skills, experience and qualifications

NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioners are required to hold current Proficient or Advanced suitability status with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, along with relevant qualifications and demonstrated clinical experience.

Selection Criteria (essential):

• Current Proficient or Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner suitability status under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
• University-level degree in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or other relevant Allied Health discipline).
• Minimum 2 years' experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support within the disability sector.
• Demonstrated experience conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing, implementing and reviewing Behaviour Support Plans, including plans involving regulated restrictive practices.
• Strong clinical reasoning and formulation skills, with the ability to translate assessment findings into practical, meaningful strategies.
• High-quality report writing and clinical documentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage your workload independently while meeting regulatory timeframes.

Desirable:

• Lived experience with a disability, including through family, friend or community networks.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Experience mentoring or supervising other practitioners, or a track record that shows you're ready to.
• Accreditation with a relevant professional body (AHPRA, APNA, AASW etc.).

Salary:

• $113,000 – $120,000 per year (+ 12% super), inclusive of performance-based KPI and bonus components.
• External weekly clinical supervision is arranged and paid for by Circle SC.
