We are recruiting an experienced Network Security Architect to join a large, complex organisation operating a geographically dispersed technology environment across Ireland.

This is a senior architecture position combining network security solution design, Palo Alto firewall architecture, hybrid-cloud connectivity and technical governance.

The successful candidate will act as the Network & Cybersecurity Solution Architect across major technology projects, while also providing design authority and strategic direction for the organisation's firewall and wider network security environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead network and cybersecurity solution architecture across major projects

• Design secure solutions across on-premise, Microsoft Azure and third-party environments

• Own architecture and design standards for the Palo Alto firewall estate

• Produce HLDs, LLDs, network diagrams, security patterns and architecture roadmaps

• Develop network security architecture covering segmentation, Zero Trust, LAN/WAN, VPN, remote access, DMZ, IDS/IPS and secure cloud connectivity

• Lead architecture for firewall upgrades, migrations and technology replacement programmes

• Provide technical leadership and design assurance to network/firewall engineers

• Oversee Managed Service Providers and specialist network security suppliers

• Support vulnerability remediation, security assessments, major incidents and continuous security improvement

What we're looking for:

Strong Network Security / Cybersecurity Architecture experience

Excellent Palo Alto firewall design and architecture expertise

Strong networking knowledge across routing, switching, segmentation, VPN and security controls

Experience with Microsoft Azure hybrid-cloud connectivity and security

Experience delivering architecture within complex enterprise environments

Strong HLD/LLD, technical governance and solution-design capability

Experience managing or technically overseeing MSPs and third-party suppliers

Ability to influence engineers, project teams and senior stakeholders

Certifications such as Palo Alto, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF or Azure Security/Networking would be advantageous.
