Network Capacity Analyst

Role: Network Capacity AnalystLocation: Kraków, Poland (2 days Office/3 days Remote)Experience: 5-10 yrsContract: 6Months What you’ll do:Primary responsibility is to drive the improvement of capacity management within Connectivity to meet internal control requirementsEnsure that capacity management activities in Connectivity are balanced such that they are prioritised based on risk to service, effort involved to complete and the cost of completion (including Total Cost of Ownership considerations)Represent Connectivity on the HSBC Capacity Management Community of Practice forumDetermine sources of measures of business demand that drive capacity consumption for key products within ConnectivityQuantify the relationship between business demand and capacity consumptionEnsure that all changes that have impact on network infrastructure are assessed by Architects in ConnectivityWork with business areas to ensure that all programmes/projects/changes engage with the Connectivity Front Door process (not just those that have identified a need for Connectivity to support them)Prioritise efforts such that infrastructure service outages and repeat failures are reducedEnsure global capacity management standards are set and adhered toUsing Continuous Improvement Methodology, work to improve the services we provide with the domains and vendors What you need to have to succeed in this roleExperience in working with and/or building large scale resilient network environmentsAn understanding of network resilience principlesA capacity management background, ideally in a network environment – the resources in scope include network bandwidth, ports, routers, firewalls, servers, etc.Strong numerical skillsExperience of working to ITIL standards/frameworksAn understanding of how capacity consumption affects performanceOwnership – a passion for gaining outcomes (i.e. not task driven)A passion for challenging the reason why – and the willingness to be challengedAbility to engage and collaborate with multiple teamsA drive to search for complex problems to solve and an ability to learn through solving themStrong drive to improve the services we provide
