Show job description

As a Network & Connectivity Solution Architect reporting to the VP of Software Engineering, you'll play a critical role in designing and governing the end-to-end network and connectivity architectures that power the Calypso CapCloud platform — a cloud-native capital markets solution serving clients across global financial markets.

You'll thrive in this position if you're technically deep, client-focused, and energized by solving complex connectivity challenges across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. You bring a global mindset, a passion for cloud networking and security, and the ability to translate complex architecture into clear, actionable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of scalable, secure network and connectivity architectures for the CapCloud platform, spanning cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises environments across AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for customer connectivity and integration architecture, leading discovery workshops, design reviews, and onboarding engagements with clients and implementation partners.
  • Define and maintain connectivity reference architectures, solution blueprints, and design standards — covering private connectivity, VPNs, APIs, load balancing, proxy architectures, and traffic management.
  • Architect and govern enterprise PKI, TLS/mTLS, and Zero Trust networking solutions, ensuring compliance with X.509, RFC 5280, and PKIX standards.
  • Lead adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and cloud-native automation, standardizing connectivity deployment patterns and integrating networking into CI/CD pipelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in network architecture, cloud networking, or connectivity engineering, with hands-on expertise across AWS (preferred) and/or OCI environments.
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end network solutions including VPC/VCN architectures, BGP/OSPF routing, VPN technologies (IPsec, FortiGate), and private connectivity services (AWS Direct Connect, OCI FastConnect, AWS PrivateLink).
  • Strong experience with traffic management technologies including Layer 4/7 load balancers, HAProxy, Squid Proxy, SSL termination, and reverse proxy architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes networking, service mesh architectures (mTLS, East-West traffic), and API gateway standards (authentication, rate limiting, developer onboarding).
  • Clear communicator with a track record of presenting architecture recommendations to both technical teams and senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud networking certifications (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, OCI Networking) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in capital markets, fintech, or regulated financial services environments.
  • Familiarity with connectivity protocols used in financial markets, including FIX connectivity, IBM MQ, market data distribution, and third-party trading and clearing platforms.

This position is based in London and offers a hybrid work environment with at least 3 days per week in-office, subject to change.
