Daily rate: €400 / MD

Location: Full Remote | Client based in Frankfurt, Germany

Start: ASAP

Workload: Full-time, 5 days/week

Contract: Until 31 December 2026 with a strong possibility of extension into 2027

Language: English required | German is an advantage

For a long-term infrastructure project in a regulated enterprise environment, we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer – Data Center Network with strong hands-on expertise in Cisco ACI and Cisco Nexus.

The role focuses primarily on operational responsibility for a large-scale data center network environment, including administration, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, incidents, changes and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

• Operate and support Data Center Network infrastructure based on Cisco ACI and Cisco Nexus 9k/7k
• Configure, administer and troubleshoot Cisco ACI, APIC, Tenant Policies and L4-L7 Service Graphs
• Manage Cisco Nexus environments using NX-OS, VPC, FEX and M-FC
• Perform ACI Fabric upgrades, EPG changes and firmware lifecycle activities
• Troubleshoot fabric issues, packet loss and multipath problems
• Handle 2nd and 3rd level incidents and support Major Incident resolution
• Participate in Bridge Calls, root-cause analysis and Emergency Changes
• Manage Cisco Smart Licensing and infrastructure lifecycle activities
• Monitor infrastructure using tools such as CheckMK
• Support vulnerability management, CVE tracking and security patch assessment
• Maintain network-related CMDB data including IP addresses, VLANs, VRFs and configuration items
• Support capacity, availability and service performance monitoring
• Contribute to operational documentation, SOPs and standard configuration guidelines
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Prepare for the planned introduction of Huawei CloudEngine infrastructure from 2028

Required experience

• Several years of hands-on experience operating Data Center Network environments
• Strong practical knowledge of Cisco ACI
• Strong experience with Cisco Nexus and NX-OS
• Good understanding of APIC, Tenant concepts and L4-L7 integration
• CCNA / CCNP Data Center or equivalent certification required
• Experience with Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes in enterprise or regulated environments
• Experience with operational and technical documentation
• Fluent English for documentation and international collaboration

Nice to have

• CCNP Data Center certification
• Huawei CloudEngine / DCN experience
• Huawei HCIP or HCIE Datacom
• German language skills
• ITIL certification
• Network automation using Ansible and Python
• Experience with CheckMK, Splunk and Syslog
• Previous experience within banking or another regulated environment
