The Role: The Manager, Network Operations leads the operational core of the network organization, reporting to the Head of Network. The role covers two areas: the network business functions that keep the organization accountable and running, and the daily network operations that keep the environment healthy. The manager works directly with the Head of Network on budget and forecasting and leads a distributed team across Canada, the US, and India. Responsibilities: Network Business Functions Lifecycle management across network assets and services Financial forecasting and budget ownership Invoice approvals Purchasing for Operations and on behalf of the Cloud, Access & Edge, and DC/Campus/Colo teams CMDB integration and compliance Circuit management Network Operations This manager runs the team that is responsible for: Triage daily alarms across the environment: fix or escalate Run the daily morning huddle to review all open alarms Administer the network intelligence and monitoring systems: Kentik, LogicMonitor, NodePing, and Forward Networks Administer the out-of-band management network Sit in on all major changes to facilitate and log activity Track and log all outages During outages, use the intelligence tools to provide engineers the data needed to speed recovery Establish a follow-the-sun model that delivers a daily report ready for hand-off at the morning huddle and extends triage coverage across more of the day Team Management: Leads a distributed team across Canada, the US, and India, including internal network operations staff, contracted engineers, and contracted remote-hands function.
