Job Summary – Correctional Health The Telehealth Neurologist provides specialized neurological care through remote consultation services for incarcerated adult patients within the Harris County Jail. This part-time role includes conducting virtual evaluations and managing neurological conditions such as seizures, headaches, neuropathies, and movement disorders using secure telehealth platforms. The Neurologist collaborates closely with on-site nursing staff and primary care providers to deliver timely, evidence-based recommendations that support continuity of care in a correctional setting. Minimum Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Licensure & Certification: Valid Texas Medical License Board-Certified Adult Neurologist (completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Fellowship) Active DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) License Work Experience: No prior experience required Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact) Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking) Writing / Correspondence Writing / Reports Proficiencies: Personal Computer Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Analytical abilities Medical terminology Mathematics Research knowledge Work Schedule: Flexible Additional Information: Equipment Operated: Computer Leave requests require 60 days’ notice CME: 5 business days per year (advance notice required for coverage arrangements)
