We are looking for an experienced New Business Development Associateto join our team of sales professionals. As Tierney’s continues to progress and grow, we are seeking a motivated and ambitious person who, together with the New Business Development Manager, will identify, prospect, and target new customers, regions and business sectors. This successful candidate will play an essential role in driving growth of sales revenues and will contribute to the overall success of the business.
The role is primarily based in our Ennis office; however occasional, on-site prospect customer visits may be required. It is also a hybrid role with the option of working from home two days a week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and target prospective customers within specified regions, sectors, and customer profiles.
Build and maintain accurate prospect databases, identifying relevant decision-makers and stakeholders.
Generate leads through telephone, email, social media, networking, and other appropriate channels.
Build professional relationships with prospective companies and key stakeholders and develop and understanding of their needs and requirements.
Introduce Tierney's products, solutions and services, both new and existing, to prospective clients
Qualify opportunities, agree the next steps and arrange discovery meetings, presentations or product demonstrations with clients.
Continuously develop & maintain Tierney’s sales knowledge databases & product collateral. Devise corresponding training schedules for all sales team members.
Regular review of opportunity white spaces / boxes for existing customers and advise business account managers of sales opportunities for their customer base.
Regular review of non-contracted customers and those that do not have a nominated business account manager to ensure we are optimising sales opportunities for those customer sets.
Monitor industry and regional developments, investments, key personnel movements, mergers and acquisitions, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
Maintain awareness of relevant sector news, technologies, products and services, and share useful market intelligence with the sales team.
Maintain accurate CRM/PSA records of contacts, correspondence, opportunities, follow-ups and next actions.
Manage prospects follow-up consistently and review early-stage pipeline activity with the New Business Development Manager & Head of Sales & Business Development.
Analyse lead-generation activity and provide clear pipeline information and statistics.
Support outbound campaigns, respond to appropriate inbound enquiries, and issue relevant company or product information.
Work with sales and marketing colleagues to progress qualified opportunities and prepare for customer meetings or presentations.
Attend relevant trade shows, networking events, sales meetings and training where required.
Requirements
Previous Experience in Sales, Marketing & Lead Generation is desirable.
Previous Experience working in any IT related organisations is also of benefit.
Customer-focused, curious and comfortable initiating conversations with new organisations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident and professional telephone manner.
Self-motivated, proactive and uses own initiative to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and priorities.
Strong attention to detail ensuring information, documentation, and work outputs are accurate and complete.
Results orientated with a “can-do” attitude. Enthusiastic, energetic, and dynamic.
Ability to manage multiple prospects, priorities, and next actions accurately.
Knowledge or experience of the IT, SME, or Hospitality industries.
Works collaboratively as part of the team while remaining accountable for their own workload.
Good overall level of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft 365 Products Suite, in particular MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Sharepoint.
Knowledge of Sales CRM and database management tools
Good use of social media platforms
