WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU

This secondment designs two enterprise frameworks for developing the next generation of US sales leaders.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

The first covers the path from high-potential representative to Area Business Manager (ABM); the second covers the senior leadership key experiences pathways from Regional Business Director (RBD) to Vice President (VP) and Senior Vice President (SVP). The secondee maps the leader development programs that exist, are legacy, or are planned across Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Oncology, identifies best practices, and recommends an optimal enterprise framework and step-wise implementation plan that CEP teams can operationalize.

HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT

Scope 1: Next-Generation ABM Development Framework

  • Inventory current, legacy, and planned next-generation ABM development programs across Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Oncology.
  • For each program, document its design: identification and selection, assessment, curriculum, delivery model, external partners, governance, and resourcing.
  • Identify the common elements, the differences, and the reasons each business designed its program the way it did.
  • Recommend one enterprise framework, with a common core and business-specific flex where the business model requires it, covering:

– candidate identification and selection, anchored to the ABM Competency Model.

– readiness assessment approach.

– development curriculum and learning pathways, progress tracking.

– external partners who could support delivery at scale.

– governance, roles, and operationalization steps.

Scope 2: Senior Sales Leader Key Experiences

Assess the applicability of the US Commercial Key Experience domains to a sales-specific senior leadership pathway and recommend adjustments.

  • Define the sales-specific experiences that prepare leaders to progress from RBD to VP to SVP
  • Identify examples of types of roles and scopes in the enterprise level that can help build these experiences
