NOC Engineer (Night Shift)

About the Role

We are looking for a NOC Engineer to join our team on the night shift. You will be the first line of response when critical incidents, outages and performance alerts hit. You will diagnose issues across network, server and application layers, coordinate escalation with the right technical teams, and keep customers and third-party providers informed until service is restored.

What You’ll Do

• Provide timely response to all incidents, outages and performance alerts
• Troubleshoot most application problems independently, find the root cause and fix the problem
• Recognize, identify and prioritize incidents according to customer business requirements, organizational policies and operational impact
• Categorize issues and escalate them to the appropriate technical teams
• Monitor and troubleshoot a wide range of systems: Telecommunications Metro-E circuits, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP, servers, storage, backup, operating systems and core applications
• Notify customers and third-party service providers of issues, outages and remediation status
• Collect and review performance reports, and report hardware and application performance trends to help senior technical staff anticipate issues or outages
• Document all actions according to company policies and procedures
• Create and update knowledge base articles with internal and external technical and service teams

Required Qualifications

• Prior Major Incident Management experience (must have)
• Strong communication skills (must have)
• CCNA certification or 5+ years of experience
• Experience managing, supporting and deploying network infrastructures
• Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, events and issues
• Experience with Disaster Recovery Plans
• Comfort working in an Agile, team-driven environment
• Solid understanding of requirement specification, design, coding and testing of business application systems under Agile methodologies
• Strong working knowledge of installed systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems on the systems supported
• Proficiency in one or more technology environments, with the ability to learn new and emerging concepts quickly
• Ability to build and maintain strong knowledge of the business areas supported and their applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Scrum
• Experience in the Banking industry
