About Us

The Ammortal Chamber brings together multiple scientifically backed technologies into one experience. It is a healing technology that can be utilized by wellness clinics and inside the home. Our clients include specialty spas and clinics, sports teams, and individuals who are biohackers or athletes.

We are a small team with a startup culture. After our first full year shipping a finished product on the market, we’ve shown strong growth. Our team is made up of engineers, health professionals, and startup entrepreneurs.

As we continue expanding, this role offers hands-on experience, opportunities to grow into leadership, and the chance to make a tangible impact by developing and delivering cutting-edge wellness technology. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to innovate and shape technologies that enhance well-being for our clients.

What is this role and why does it exist?

The Ammortal Chamber is a complex electromechanical product, and we are scaling production significantly. Getting from engineering development to repeatable, high-quality production takes a dedicated owner who keeps design, manufacturing, and quality moving in step.

The NPI Engineer owns that transition. This role is the primary technical interface between Product Engineering and our contract manufacturing partners, driving manufacturing readiness from early design through prototype, validation, pilot, and production builds. Every Chamber that ships well-built and on time is a person or a community that gets to experience what we've made.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Manufacturer Interface: Serve as the primary engineering interface with contract manufacturers and key manufacturing suppliers. Coordinate prototype, pilot, and production builds with internal engineering teams and external manufacturing partners.
  • NPI Planning and Build Control: Develop and maintain the NPI plan from prototype builds through production launch and ramp. Coordinate engineering builds and ensure build objectives, configurations, materials, documentation, and issues are controlled.
  • DFM/DFA Leadership: Lead DFM/DFA reviews with Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, suppliers, and manufacturing partners. Identify manufacturing risks early and drive resolution before production release.
  • Manufacturing Requirements and Test Strategy: Develop manufacturing requirements for assembly processes, fixtures, tooling, programming, calibration, and production testing. Develop manufacturing-test strategy in collaboration with Electrical and Firmware Engineering.
  • Documentation and Configuration Control: Coordinate BOM readiness, approved components, manufacturing documentation, drawings, work instructions, and engineering changes with appropriate owners. Ensure engineering changes are properly communicated and implemented by manufacturing partners.
  • Quality Systems and Readiness: Establish production acceptance criteria and manufacturing quality controls with the contract manufacturer. Support PFMEA, control plans, process validation, first-article activities, and production-readiness reviews. Support supplier qualification and technical evaluation of manufacturing processes.
  • Issue Resolution and Ramp Metrics: Maintain build issue lists and drive root-cause and corrective-action closure. Track yield, defects, rework, cycle time, and manufacturing issues during ramp.
  • Serviceability and Configuration Consistency: Drive serviceability, replaceable-assembly strategy, service disconnects, component identification, maintenance, and field-replacement considerations into product design. Coordinate with Verification, Compliance, and Quality functions to ensure production configurations remain consistent with validated product configurations.

Skills to Excel

  • Ownership Across the Handoff
    • You keep engineering intent intact from design through production, and you drive problems to closure rather than just tracking them.
  • Manufacturing Fluency
    • You understand DFM/DFA, assembly processes, fixtures, tooling, production testing, and configuration control well enough to guide design decisions.
  • Structured Problem Solving
    • You use root-cause analysis, 8D-style problem solving, PFMEA, and control plans to resolve issues systematically.
  • Partner Communication
    • You build trusted relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers while holding a clear line on quality.
  • Cross-Functional Range
    • You move comfortably across Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Systems, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain.
