Nurse Resource Navigator - North East Region

The Nurse Resource Navigator will provide the Hemophilia B community with comprehensive, personalized support and education on gene therapy throughout the patient’s journey. This individual will serve as a high-value source of information about gene therapy and will offer support and guidance to potential candidates for gene-therapy. The Nurse Resource Navigator will educate patients, HCPs, and members of the bleeding disorders community regarding gene therapy as be part of a coordinated, field-based, regionally aligned team designed to represent CSL Behring to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Lead regional efforts to support services education to patients, families/caregivers, healthcare professionals (nurses, medical assistants, office staff), nursing organizations, advocacy groups, educate patients on required steps that need to be taken prior to receiving treatment and provide information about CSL Behring patient support offerings

• Define best practices for patient engagement across the region

• Partnering with regional, field-based, and internal colleagues to identify barriers to patient access and help address them

• Liaison between and hemophilia treatment centers, with CSL patient support case managers, other CSL functions in order to ensure comprehensive patient support throughout treatment journey

• Advisor who is a familiar point of contact for patients throughout their gene therapy journey

• Respond and anticipate patient inquiries to promote transparency and foster understanding of the science of gene therapy

• Provide in-depth education to patients who are interested in learning more about gene therapy

• Escalate clinical or medical inquiries to appropriate teams to ensure accurate and compliant responses

• Accurately document all interactions in compliance with company policies and industry regulations and complete required entries in CRM systems to track activity, outcomes, and metrics
• Educate patients/caregivers on CSL hemophilia products and services to promote a well-balanced understanding of treatment options and available support services through telephone communication, live/virtual patient and family meetings, and patient education programs

• Be a subject matter expert on all of the programs and services that CSL Behring provides to patients within the bleeding disorders community

• Actively collaborate with field and internal colleagues to increase disease-state awareness, promote early diagnosis, and support patient access.
• Influence across Sales, FRMs, Medical, Market Access

• Help to foster a positive relationship between CSL Behring and key stakeholders

• Report key insights and feedback from patient community

• Leads development of innovative patient support solutions for gene therapy adoption

• Owns key performance indicators that are critical to delivering on the role’s educational function

• Ensure full compliance with corporate policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards as defined by Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance leadership

• Abide by all SOPs and guidance related to ethical interactions with consumers and healthcare providers

• Represents CSL Behring with national advocacy organizations and key external stakeholders

• Serves as a thought leader in patient engagement for rare disease/gene therapy

• Remote role located in Massachusetts and covering East Coast Territory

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) business/marketing or science discipline

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience of working in a hemophilia treatment center, patient-related organization or health care system

• Experience supporting and providing education to patients, family members, healthcare professionals, office staff, nursing organizations, and community groups affected by rare and ultra-rare genetic diseases (required)

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, professional communication, problem-solving ability, compassion, and skill in navigating difficult conversations

• Ability to translate complex scientific and medical information into patient-friendly language

• A deep understanding of insurance products and medication reimbursement process with a successful track record in field reimbursement, clinical education or in pharmaceutical sales/management of products that require significant payer and reimbursement involvement.

• Proven success collaborating and leading within cross-functional teams and matrix organizations.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to innovate and work in a fast-paced, energetic environment.

• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a field-based role

• Background in social work, public health, nursing

• Experience with patient advocate-type responsibilities

• Experience with the Bleeding Disorders Community strongly preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
