Unstoppable starts with people. The future of payments is being built today, and at Paymentology, we are looking for people who want to help shape it. We power card issuing for leading banks, fintechs and digital brands across the globe, and as we continue to grow, we are looking for curious, ambitious people who thrive on solving complex challenges, embrace innovation and want to make a tangible impact at global scale.

We're looking for an experienced Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Paymentology's global Business Continuity, Operational Resilience and Crisis Management programme. This role is key to ensuring our critical business services remain resilient, strengthening our ability to respond to disruptions and supporting our regulatory and client commitments across multiple markets.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen a global resilience programme, working closely with Security, Technology and senior business stakeholders. You'll have significant ownership of resilience governance, business impact assessments, testing and crisis management, while partnering with Technology teams responsible for technical disaster recovery.

If you have hands-on experience building and implementing resilience frameworks in regulated environments, enjoy solving complex challenges and can influence stakeholders across a global organisation, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact.

What you get to do:

Operational Resilience Strategy & Governance

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve Paymentology's global Business Continuity and Operational Resilience framework.

  • Establish governance, policies, procedures and reporting mechanisms to strengthen organisational resilience.

  • Identify important business services and define appropriate impact tolerances, recovery priorities and resilience requirements.

  • Work with senior stakeholders to assess resilience maturity, identify gaps and drive improvements across the organisation.

  • Ensure resilience arrangements align with relevant regulatory expectations, industry standards and client commitments.

Business Impact Assessment & Dependency Mapping

  • Lead Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) to understand the operational, financial, regulatory and customer impact of service disruptions.

  • Map critical business services, processes, technology components, third-party dependencies, operational teams and locations.

  • Define and maintain methodologies for impact tolerances, recovery prioritisation and resilience assessments.

  • Collaborate with business and Technology teams to ensure recovery arrangements reflect business requirements and customer obligations.

Resilience Testing & Recovery Assurance

  • Develop and coordinate a structured resilience testing programme, including tabletop exercises, crisis simulations and technical recovery exercises.

  • Partner with Technology teams to assess whether disaster recovery plans, runbooks and recovery capabilities meet agreed business requirements.

  • Challenge technical recovery assumptions and identify gaps between technical capabilities and business impact tolerances.

  • Document testing outcomes, identify weaknesses and ensure remediation actions are prioritised and tracked through to closure.

  • Promote continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned from incidents, testing and recovery exercises.

Crisis Management & Business Continuity

  • Develop and maintain Paymentology's global crisis management framework, including governance, escalation procedures and response arrangements.

  • Coordinate with local and global teams to support effective responses to major incidents and operational disruptions.

  • Ensure business continuity plans address critical operations, alternative working arrangements, employee safety and customer service continuity.

  • Facilitate crisis management exercises and support organisational preparedness for disruptive events.

  • Work with stakeholders to improve incident response, recovery coordination and organisational resilience.

Risk Management, Compliance & Assurance

  • Maintain a resilience risk and remediation register, ensuring identified risks and actions are appropriately assessed, owned and monitored.

  • Support alignment with relevant frameworks and regulatory expectations, including ISO 22301, FCA Operational Resilience and DORA.

  • Work with Procurement and Vendor Management to assess third-party resilience and strengthen supplier continuity requirements.

  • Support client audits, due diligence, RFPs and regulatory reviews by providing evidence of Paymentology's resilience capabilities.

  • Contribute to broader security compliance initiatives, including ISO 27001, PCI DSS and SOC 2.

  • Support the development of policies, procedures and assurance materials that demonstrate effective resilience governance.

Stakeholder Engagement & Performance Reporting

  • Build strong relationships across Security, Technology, Operations, Risk and business teams to embed resilience into day-to-day operations.

  • Provide independent oversight and constructively challenge recovery assumptions and unresolved resilience risks.

  • Define and monitor KPIs and KRIs covering resilience maturity, testing outcomes, remediation progress and critical dependencies.

  • Prepare clear, actionable reports for senior leadership, highlighting key risks, progress and decisions required.

  • Translate complex technical and operational risks into practical business recommendations.

  • Support senior stakeholders in assessing residual risks and determining appropriate remediation priorities.

What it takes to succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic Business Continuity, Operational Resilience or related role, ideally within financial services, banking, fintech, payments or another highly regulated environment.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing Business Continuity and Operational Resilience frameworks, rather than solely maintaining existing processes or documentation.

  • Strong practical knowledge of Business Impact Assessments, important business services, impact tolerances, dependency mapping and recovery prioritisation.

  • Hands-on experience developing and coordinating resilience testing programmes, business continuity exercises and crisis management simulations.

  • Familiarity with FCA Operational Resilience, DORA, ISO 22301 or equivalent international regulatory and industry standards.

  • Ability to understand and challenge technical disaster recovery assumptions, translating recovery capabilities into business, customer and regulatory impacts.

  • Strong programme and project management skills, with experience coordinating complex initiatives across multiple teams, locations and stakeholders.

  • Sound risk judgement, with the ability to prioritise competing requirements, recommend practical solutions and escalate significant resilience risks.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to constructively challenge senior Technology and business leaders.

  • Experience supporting audits, client due diligence, regulatory reviews and resilience assurance activities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Independent, proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to build structure, drive accountability and deliver improvements in a global, cross-functional environment.

  • Experience with GRC platforms such as Drata, Vanta or equivalent solutions would be advantageous.

  • Professional qualifications or membership of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), or equivalent risk management and resilience bodies, would be beneficial.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

If you want to take ownership of a global resilience programme, strengthen the continuity of critical payment services and help shape how a global fintech prepares for, responds to and recovers from disruption, we'd love to hear from you.
