Job Description:

The Operational Risk Advisor supports bp’s Supply, Trading & Shipping (ST&S) business by helping strengthen risk management practices across global operations. This role contributes to informed decision-making through data, insights, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while fostering an inclusive, transparent, and proactive risk culture.


Job Summary

Operational Risk Management

  • Contribute to risk management activities through analysis, reviews, and partner collaboration.
  • Maintain high-quality data and support improvements to risk management processes and tools.
  • Support the enhancement of operational risk frameworks, controls, and governance practices.
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen business resilience and operational effectiveness.

Risk Analytics & Reporting


  • Develop analysis, dashboards, and reports that support business decision-making.
  • Use data and insights to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Present complex information in a clear and accessible way to diverse audiences.
  • Support the continuous enhancement of risk metrics, reporting, and visualization tools.

Collaboration, Learning & Engagement


  • Develop and deliver guidance, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Partner with colleagues across regions, functions, and business teams to support shared objectives.
  • Promote an environment of transparency, inclusion, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Support change and improvement initiatives that enhance risk management capabilities.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and transferable skills will also be considered.

Professional Background

  • Relevant experience in areas such as risk, compliance, audit, controls, analytics, governance, operations, consulting, process improvement, or other related subject areas.
  • Experience working with data, reporting, visualization, or business insights.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Power BI or similar analytics and reporting platforms is beneficial.
  • Exposure to GRC, enterprise risk management systems, or similar technologies is advantageous but not required.

Work Location & Shift Pattern


  • São Paulo, Brazil.
  • Hybrid model: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote.
  • No travel required.
