Role Description The Operations & 3rd Party Foundry Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Johor Baharu, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This role oversees day-to-day coordination between internal engineering teams and external foundry partners, ensuring that IC fabrication schedules, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met. Responsibilities include managing production workflows, monitoring yield and process performance, resolving manufacturing and quality issues, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. The engineer will support continuous improvement initiatives, optimize operational processes, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements. Collaboration with design, supply chain, and quality teams is essential to align foundry capabilities with project and business needs.
Responsible:
Monitor wafer production status at external foundries.
Track wafer starts, work-in-progress (WIP), and delivery schedules.
Support tapeout activities and maintain tapeout schedules.
Help coordinate GDS release and required tapeout documents.
Follow up with foundry partners on production updates and action items.
Prepare reports on wafer status, yield, and delivery commitments.
Support issue tracking and escalation for manufacturing delays.
Work closely with Design, Product Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
Maintain manufacturing and tapeout documentation.
Assist in new product introduction (NPI) and qualification activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
0 to 3 years of experience in semiconductor industry, manufacturing, operations, or supply chain.
Fresh graduates with semiconductor internship experience are encouraged to apply.
Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing flow and tapeout process.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Basic SQL or data analysis skills
Understanding of semiconductor wafer fabrication
Familiarity with foundries such as TSMC, GlobalFoundries, Samsung, or UMC
