Job Description:

Department Overview

TD Auto Finance (TDAF) is part of TD Business Banking and provides automotive financing solutions to customers and dealer partners across Canada. TDAF Commercial supports floor plan and lease financing for automotive dealerships through collaboration across Commercial Sales, Commercial Credit, and Commercial Operations.

The Commercial Operations Audit team conducts physical floorplan inventory, and administrative audits to validate collateral and support effective portfolio oversight. The team works with dealership clients, internal partners, and third-party audit vendors to deliver accurate, timely, and well-documented audit outcomes.

Job Description

Reporting to the Audit Manager, the Field Auditor, Western Canada conducts on-site dealership audits across Western Canada territory (including but not limited to BC, AB, SK, and MB), including physical inventory counts and administrative reviews. The role verifies collateral, documents audit findings, identifies potential risk indicators, and escalates concerns in a timely manner.

This role is well suited to a detail-oriented, independent professional who is comfortable with regional travel and can balance strong dealer relationships with sound audit discipline.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct field-based audits at dealership locations across Western Canada, performing physical vehicle inventory counts, collateral verification, and administrative audits in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and other locations as required.
  • Complete scheduled, unscheduled, high-risk, inventory watch, takeover, and time-sensitive audits within required frequency, rotation, and service expectations.
  • Prioritize regional audit activity using sound judgment, with focus on higher-risk dealers, complex dealer groups, large inventories, and locations where direct TD field oversight provides added value.
  • Review and verify dealer records related to sold, missing, damaged, or not-seen units, identify unauthorized locations or irregularities, and escalate concerns to appropriate internal partners.
  • Accurately capture audit results, supporting documentation, photos, findings, and commentary, ensuring audit files are complete, timely, and ready for review.
  • When required, support office-based audit activities, including reviewing audit results and following up with dealership contacts by email to collect payoffs or supporting documentation.
  • Maintain an accurate monthly Western Canada audit schedule and optimize regional travel by grouping audits geographically, pairing smaller audits where appropriate, and applying prudent cost management.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with dealer clients, Commercial Sales, Commercial Credit, internal operations partners, and third-party audit vendors, including Douglas Guardian / Quiktrak field representatives.
  • Support audit quality by documenting discrepancies, sharing regional observations, and providing feedback to support consistent audit execution.
  • Participate in training, cross-training, knowledge sharing, and process improvement initiatives that support business continuity, regional audit readiness, and operational excellence.
