The Organisation
Riise Australia is a registered NDIS provider based in Ballarat, delivering Supported Independent Living, Specialist Disability Accommodation, Short and Medium Term Accommodation, Individualised Living Options and home care services. The organisation currently supports participants across six homes along with a growing home care client base, and has a clear plan for continued growth over the next two years.
Riise is led by a hands-on Director and is building out its leadership team, with new appointments already made in service delivery. This is a genuine opportunity to join at a point of growth and shape how the organisation operates.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Director, the Operations and Compliance Manager holds accountability for quality, compliance and day-to-day operations across the organisation. The role leads preparation for the organisation’s next audit, scheduled for February 2027, and embeds the systems, policies and practices that support consistent, high-quality participant outcomes.
The position also carries direct leadership responsibility for existing operational staff and will shape the structure of the team as the organisation grows. The role works alongside consultants currently supporting a reimplementation of Shiftcare and a broader review of business systems.
This is a remote position, with an expectation of regular attendance across the Ballarat homes. Candidates must be within reasonable travelling distance of Ballarat.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality and compliance across all services, maintaining conformance with the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality and Safeguarding Framework
- Plan, prepare for and manage the organisation’s next external audit
- Develop, review and embed policies, procedures and operational systems
- Manage incident reporting, complaints, restrictive practices and continuous improvement processes
- Oversee day-to-day operations across SIL, SDA and home care services
- Lead, supervise and develop operational staff, including capability building and performance management
- Support the reimplementation of Shiftcare and the establishment of consistent rostering and operational reporting
- Build and maintain relationships with support coordinators, participants, families and external stakeholders
- Provide operational reporting and recommendations to the Director
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in a quality, compliance or operations management role within the NDIS or disability sector
- Working knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
- Experience preparing for and managing NDIS audits
- Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures and operational systems
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including supervision and development of staff
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a Director and external stakeholders
- Tertiary qualification in disability, community services, health, business or a related discipline
- Current Australian driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
- Experience with Shiftcare or a comparable rostering and client management system
- Experience within a small to medium provider during a period of growth
- Experience across both accommodation and home care service models
