Operations & Delivery Manager

Remote based – occasional travel to UK offices and client sites

Competitive Salary + Bonus + Share Options + Career Progression Opportunity to COO

We working with a fast-growing technology consultancy who specialises in delivering technology and transformation services across industrial and manufacturing environments, including MES, digital manufacturing, automation, IT/OT, ERP and data-driven transformation programmes.

Having established a strong reputation in the market, the business is now expanding into larger and more complex enterprise organisations, including aerospace and defence.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing business where you'll work closely with the Exec team (including the founders), influence strategic direction, and play a key role in shaping the next phase of growth.

For the right individual, there is a clear pathway towards an Operations Director or COO-level position as the business continues to scale.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Operations & Delivery Manager to sit at the heart of the business, acting as a trusted partner to the founders.

This is a broad leadership role combining customer project delivery with internal business operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring programmes are delivered successfully while driving operational performance, consistency, and continuous improvement across the company.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Programme Delivery

  • Lead the successful delivery of customer projects and programmes from planning through to deployment and handover
  • Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, risks and resources
  • Act as the key point of contact for customers throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Coordinate internal teams, partners and customer stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes

Delivery Governance

  • Establish and oversee project governance, reporting and portfolio visibility
  • Monitor project performance, risks, customer satisfaction and commercial health
  • Ensure contractual commitments are delivered and lessons learned are embedded into future engagements

Support Services & Operations

  • Oversee support service performance, including SLAs, escalations and customer satisfaction
  • Manage the transition from project delivery into ongoing support
  • Track service performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer outcomes

Delivery Excellence

  • Develop and improve delivery methodologies, standards and governance frameworks
  • Support pre-sales activities by reviewing delivery approaches, estimates and project risks
  • Drive consistency and best practice across all customer engagements

Commercial & Operational Performance

  • Manage resource planning, utilisation and project financial performance
  • Monitor budgets, forecasting, invoicing and margin delivery
  • Identify opportunities for additional project work and continuous improvement across delivery operations

AI & Process Automation

  • Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve efficiency across the business
  • Streamline internal processes and reduce administrative overhead
  • Develop practical AI-enabled workflows with appropriate governance and controls
  • Champion continuous improvement and technology adoption across the organisation

About You

  • Proven experience delivering technology projects and programmes within industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Experience across initiatives such as MES, Digital Manufacturing, Automation, IT/OT, ERP or Data & Analytics programmes
  • Strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to target margin
  • Experience working within a consultancy, systems integrator or professional services environment
  • Proven ability to establish and manage governance across a portfolio of projects
  • Experience designing or tailoring delivery methodologies, blending agile and traditional delivery approaches where appropriate
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills including forecasting, budgeting, utilisation planning, change control and margin management
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations and delivering projects into live production environments
  • Experience managing stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams through to executive leadership
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, partners and subcontractors, often through influence rather than direct line management
  • Excellent communication, organisation and customer-facing skills
  • A practical, pragmatic approach to process improvement and operational excellence

Why Join?

  • Work directly with the founders and influence business strategy
  • Join a rapidly growing consultancy with ambitious growth plans
  • Play a key role in shaping how the business scales
  • Broad role offering significant autonomy and impact
  • Clear progression towards Operations Director / COO-level responsibilities
  • Opportunity to help define the future of a highly successful technology consultancy
