Your mission

Every site we go into is different: other floors, other racks, other people. Our robots have to work there from day one and keep working on day 400. Making that happen is your job.

You're the person between NODE.OS and the customer's floor. You enable mobile robots with NODE.OS, get them localizing and navigating in a real facility, and hand them over to a customer technical team that can run them without calling us every morning.

When something breaks, you find out whether it's the robot, the building, the network or our software, and you make sure it doesn't break the same way twice.

You work in the office, on customer and on end-user sites. You don't just report what you find there, you also fix it in the software. An engineering role with real customer contact, not a support desk, and up to 30% of your time on customer sites.

What you'll do

  • Bring new robots and sites online

Integration, sensor calibration, NODE.OS configuration, acceptance testing against performance and safety requirements.

  • Software development

Design, develop and maintain the software that runs our robots, and turn what you learn on site into fixes in NODE.OS.

  • Train customer teams

On diagnostics, failure recovery and preventive maintenance, so they can run the fleet on their own.

  • Documentation and feedback to R&D

Integration playbooks and troubleshooting guides for the field, structured input for R&D on architecture, hardware and algorithms.

  • Fix the cause

Decide whether a parameter change is enough or the problem needs a proper fix, and then develop it.

  • Keep the customer informed

Decide what the customer needs to know and communicate it clearly.

Your profile

Must-have

  • 2+ yrs in mobile robotics, industrial automation or similar, in a technical role with real customer contact
  • Hands-on experience commissioning systems at customer sites
  • ROS/ROS2, Linux, Bash and Python
  • C++17 or higher
  • Experience in bringing mobile robots to life
  • Fluent English and good German (B2 or above)

Nice-to-have
  • Safety concepts for mobile robots, e.g. ISO 3691-4
  • Driving licence class B
  • Intralogistics or warehouse deployments, VDA5050

The other half

You'll often be the first person a customer talks to when something goes wrong, so experience here matters:

  • You've handled difficult customer situations and agreed on concrete next steps
  • You can explain technical problems to people without a technical background

Not for you if…

…you're straight out of studies or prefer to work only from a desk. No hard feelings, this role needs field experience.

Who you are

Those are the basics. Equally important is what you bring as a person:

  • Keen to work closely with the people around you? We got you.
  • Would you rather ask now than do it twice? Yes please.
  • Being the first contact when a customer's fleet has a problem? We see you.
  • Comfortable saying "not ready yet" to someone who wants a yes? That's the job.

Side quest

Day four of commissioning a new site. Acceptance test is on Friday. Two of six robots keep losing localization near the loading docks, on and off. The other four are fine. It's 2 pm, and at 6 pm the customer's project lead wants a clear answer: is Friday on or not?

What do you check in the next four hours, what exactly do you tell her at 6, and what would you change in our software so the next site doesn't run into the same thing?

Half a page. Bullets fine. No right answer, we want the reasoning.

Send it instead of a cover letter. A good answer gets you a conversation, fast.

What we offer

  • Your rhythm matters most, which is why we don't do such a thing as core hours
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Deutschland-Ticket, subsidised
  • Urban Sports Club, subsidised
  • Learning budget a year, spend it on whatever moves you
  • Corporate Benefits for exclusive discounts
  • …and of course snacks and drinks in the office
