About the role
You'll build the systems that run Shamaazi's operations and automate what repeats, working directly with the CEO. You will run our day-to-day business operations and leadership cadence, keep our people and compliance essentials flawless, and use automation and AI to keep pace with product and engineering as we launch new products ahead of Ramadan, our busiest period of the year. You will also help our leadership team run their areas well, so the CEO can stay focused on the big decisions rather than the day to day.
This role suits an operator who happens to be technical, equally strong at running things and building things: someone with energy and a positive outlook, high agency, comfortable acting on 60% of the information, and a fixer rather than just a problem finder. You love structure and detail, build your own automations rather than waiting for them, care about the team and culture, say the hard thing early, and never stop at the first no.
About us
Shamaazi is a tech company with a mission to build human connections through giving. We believe good should be social, and we are redesigning online giving from the ground up to express that vision. Our campaigns, including MyTenNights, have raised over £20m for charities, and we are excited about the growth ahead.
What you'll do
- Build the automations, dashboards and AI agent workflows operations runs on
- Automate what repeats, and remove it for good
- Run the leadership cadence: weekly SLT prep and actions, the monthly KPI pack, quarterly mandates and the decision log
- Track delivery across our priorities so operations keeps pace with engineering
- Run the shared operating cadence with our partner company
- Get our operations ready for Ramadan
- Support team rhythms, onboarding and culture alongside the CEO
- Help heads of teams own their areas, with clear processes and decision routes, so issues are fixed at the right level
- Keep the essentials flawless: people operations, data protection, access and UK compliance
What you'll need
- 3 or more years in operations, with evidence of building processes and systems others rely on
- Automations or dashboards you built with no-code tools or AI that are still in use
- Technical fluency: comfortable with no-code tools, basic SQL and working closely with engineers
- AI agents as part of how you work, not just AI tools
- Experience running team rhythms, onboarding or culture work
- A track record of fixing problems end to end, not just flagging them
- Comfort making good decisions quickly with incomplete information
- Startup experience is a strong plus, especially if you have run operations or been COO at an early-stage company or boutique
- A love of organisation, detail and well-structured systems
- A track record of running people or compliance processes accurately and on time
- Experience working for a UK company or UK clients
- Clear, structured writing and strong follow-through
- Charity or fundraising experience is a plus, not a requirement
What you'll get
- Competitive salary
- Local regulation annual leave plus public holidays
- Remote-first working, with flexibility outside core meetings
- A high-ownership role with a clear path to more responsibility
