Operations Manager, Primary Health Care
Royal Flying Doctor Service (WA)- Contribute to implementing a new Primary Health Care operating model, starting with our Dental Service and shaping future services across regional and remote WA.

About the team
RFDS WA delivers medical, dental, mental health and other community health services across regional and remote WA through outreach clinics, visiting services, fixed-site medical centres and community-based programs. This role leads one of two Operations Manager positions in the team, with an initial focus on the Dental Service, deploying Dentists and Dental Assistants to regional and remote communities for one-to-two-week rotations (FIFO and DIDO) while the broader service model continues to evolve toward an integrated, multidisciplinary, geographically based structure.
About the role
- Provide operational leadership and line management to a support team and casual pool of dentists and dental assistants, owning rostering, logistics and site-based relationships with Host facilities.
- Lead accreditation readiness, compliance and quality improvement in a highly regulated environment, working closely with Clinical Leads on governance and clinical escalations.
- Build the operating model and stakeholder relationships, internally and with government, ACCHOs and community partners, that strengthen access, equity and outcomes for underserved communities.
About you
- Experience managing logistics, rostering and people for a remote or dispersed workforce.
- Comfortable operating in a highly regulated, accredited healthcare environment, with a working understanding of compliance requirements.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems such as Best Practice or Dental4Web is an advantage.
- Clinical background advantageous but not essential.
- Tertiary qualification in Health Management, Business, Public Health, Nursing, Allied Health or a related field, or equivalent experience in operational leadership within health, community or human services.
