By focusing on the outcomes that matter most to our customers, we are also working towards our ambition to be the National Leader in sustainable water and wastewater services.

We are building a dedicated team to create our PR29 business plan, which will set out what we will deliver for customers and the environment, and the investment needed to achieve it, between 2030 and 2035. We are recruiting a number of key roles to join this team, offering an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues across Northumbrian Water, influence important decisions and help develop an ambitious and compelling plan that delivers lasting value for our customers and communities.

About the role

We have a new opportunity for an Operations Support Assistant to handle a wide range of information and organisational responsibilities regarding the delivery of Northumbrian Water Group’s PR29 business plan.

As the PR29 Operations Support Assistant, you will create successful relationships with the project team and stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met successfully, and helping the organisation effectively manage resource demands.

In this role you will input meetings data and compile monthly reporting as identified in the Business Plan timeline. You will keep records, prepare minutes, prepare action logs and organise meetings.

You will manage record keeping for PR29 project, including leave, expenses, resources, and you will coordinate team diaries to book workshops, site visits and review meetings with stakeholders.

You will provide monthly calculations of internal and external resource requirements for the PR29 project and maintain a log of key dates when project team needs are to be reviewed or changed and present team progression at monthly Team Meetings

About you

If you have general administration experience, we would love to hear from you! You will be competent in MS Office packages and can build a good knowledge of the core business systems and procedures.

You have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as the ability to maintain good stakeholder relationships.

You can arrange meetings, travel & accommodation and accurately capture notes associated with technical terms and topics regardless of familiarity with the subject.

You have experience dealing with a varied and diverse workload, can prioritise effectively and work flexibly. You can work with tight deadlines and maintain attention to detail.

We will be hosting an Open Evening session to learn more about PR29 roles at our Northumbria House office in Pity Me, Durham on Tuesday 10th November 2026. Please register your interest at: recruitment@nwl.co.uk
