Location: Frankfurt, Germany – Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week or 5 days per month). Candidates must currently be based in Germany

Oracle Database Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Engineer with a strong automation engineering mindset and solid Oracle/Exadata expertise.

We are seeking a well-rounded technologist to help scale the data infrastructure The Global Database Engineering Team manages the relational database platform and develops the automation, which keeps the business systems operational.

The Database Engineer will support the ongoing development of the relational database platforms and provide evaluation, certification and packaging of relational database tools as well as developing and maintaining platform automation scripts and applications.

This is not a traditional DBA/patching-focused role. We are specifically looking for professionals who can combine their Oracle DBA / Database Engineering background with automation skills to improve and enhance database operational and patching automation.

Must Have:

Oracle Database Engineer [ Oracle exdata + Oracle@OCI + Automation(Python and ansible playbook development) + database scripting + automation technologies + ITIL framework)

Qualifications:

· 10–15 years of Oracle DBA / Database Engineering experience in large-scale environments.

· Oracle Exadata & Exadata Cloud@Customer

· Oracle@OCI / Oracle Cloud

· Python 2.7 / 3.x Development

· Ansible Playbook Development

· Bash / KSH Shell Scripting

· Database scripting & automation technologies

· Oracle 11g / 12c / 18c / 19c / 23ai

· Oracle RAC, ASM & Data Guard

· Oracle Performance Tuning

· RMAN, Data Pump, backup, recovery & migration

· Git / Stash

· Knowledge of the ITIL framework

Key Responsibilities:

An automation engineer with a strong Oracle DBA/Database Engineering foundation who has hands-on experience developing automation and improving database operational processes.

• Develop automation platforms and modules to support database operational support teams
• Analyse incidents for root cause and update platforms and automation to eliminate problems
• Develop platform automation tooling to eliminate “toil”
• Provide support to application development teams in product and performance selection
• L3 Product database support for Exadata Cloud and Oracle Databases.
• Designing Database Model
