Role Summary

Seeking a skilled Oracle DBA with Java Application Support experience to provide operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Oracle databases and Java-based applications in production and non-production environments. The candidate should possess strong Oracle database administration skills along with experience supporting Java/J2EE applications on Linux/Windows platforms.

Oracle DBA Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain Oracle 19c databases in production and non-production environments.
• Perform routine database administration activities, including:
• User management
• Tablespace management
• Export/import
• Health checks
• Troubleshoot database performance issues and assist in optimization activities.
• Execute backup and recovery operations using RMAN.
• Monitor Oracle Data Guard environments and resolve replication issues.
• Support database patching, upgrades, and migration activities.
• Analyze Oracle alert logs, trace files, and performance reports.
• Resolve incidents, service requests, and production issues within defined SLAs.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem management activities.

Java Application Support Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for Java/J2EE applications running on WebLogic, Tomcat, or JBoss.
• Monitor application availability, performance, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot application startup, deployment, and connectivity issues.
• Diagnose JDBC connection problems between applications and Oracle databases.
• Analyze application and server logs to identify and resolve issues.
• Support application deployments and release validation activities.
• Coordinate with development and infrastructure teams for issue resolution and escalations.
• Perform basic code-level analysis using logs and stack traces.

Operational Responsibilities

• Participate in 24x7 on-call and production support rotations.
• Follow ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
• Create and maintain SOPs, Knowledge Articles, and operational documentation.
• Support automation and scripting initiatives using Shell, Python, or SQL scripts.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security and audit requirements.
