Description
The Oracle Fusion Delivery / Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and driving the successful delivery of approved Oracle Fusion change. The role provides the delivery discipline between Finance-facing Functional Analysts, Fusion Support, technical teams, implementation partners and other stakeholders, ensuring agreed change moves through design, build, testing, deployment, stabilisation and handover in a controlled and transparent way.
The role is not the primary owner of Finance requirements or prioritisation. Those activities sit with the UK-based Oracle Fusion Functional Analysts and, where appropriate, the ERP Analyst Lead. This role takes approved and sufficiently defined change and ensures it is delivered effectively.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Delivery & Project Management – 70%
- Own day-to-day delivery management for approved Oracle Fusion projects, enhancements and larger change initiatives.
- Build and maintain credible delivery plans covering scope, milestones, resources, dependencies, decisions, risks, issues and actions.
- Run project cadence including planning sessions, working groups, RAID reviews, status reporting, action tracking, change control and governance forums.
- Coordinate Oracle functional, technical, data, integration, testing, support and partner teams so activity is aligned and progresses to plan.
- Escalate material risks, decisions, dependencies or blockers to the ERP Head of Systems where senior intervention is required.
- Maintain clear and audit-ready project documentation, governance packs, decision records and delivery evidence.
- Ensure scope changes are assessed, approved and reflected in delivery plans before implementation.
2. Requirements Handover & Delivery Readiness
- Receive prioritised requirements from the UK Fusion Functional Analysts and confirm they are sufficiently clear, approved and ready to enter delivery.
- Work with Functional Analysts to clarify acceptance criteria, business dependencies and delivery assumptions without taking ownership of Finance prioritisation.
- Identify where requirements need further definition before build starts and route them back through the appropriate governance process.
- Translate approved requirements into practical delivery plans, work packages, milestones and accountable owners.
3. Testing, Cutover & Business Readiness
- Own the overall test plan and delivery coordination across SIT, regression testing, UAT, defect management and entry/exit governance.
- Coordinate environments, test readiness, dependencies, defect triage, reporting and resolution tracking across business, functional, technical and partner teams.
- Work with UK Functional Analysts, who own Finance UAT scenarios, test cases, Finance participation and business sign-off.
- Coordinate cutover planning, deployment readiness, go-live activities, hypercare and transition to BAU support.
- Ensure training, communications and business readiness activities are aligned to the delivery plan, while Functional Analysts retain ownership of Finance training content and adoption.
4. Oracle Fusion Domain Knowledge – 30%
- Bring strong working knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and related Finance processes.
- Understand the impact of integrations, workflows, reporting, security, data migration and configuration changes sufficiently to challenge plans and manage dependencies.
- Use Oracle knowledge to identify delivery risks, sequencing issues and cross-system impacts early.
- Work effectively with Fusion Support and specialist functional/technical teams without duplicating their BAU or configuration ownership.
5. Small Change vs Larger Change
The role should not become a bottleneck for every small change. BAU small change should flow from the UK Functional Analysts through prioritisation and governance to Fusion Support for delivery. This Project Manager becomes involved where change requires coordinated delivery across multiple teams, systems, test phases, significant dependencies, cutover or project-level governance.
6. Governance & Controls
- Ensure approved change follows agreed Finance Systems and Technology governance, including scope, decision, change control and deployment controls.
- Maintain clear traceability from approved requirement through build, test, deployment and handover.
- Ensure financially controlled changes, including Chart of Accounts changes, only proceed once the appropriate Finance governance and approval has been completed by the relevant UK Finance Systems stakeholders.
- Coordinate delivery impacts arising from Chart of Accounts or other controlled Finance changes where they affect reporting, integrations, downstream systems or deployment planning.
7. GITC, Controls & Audit
- Ensure projects and larger changes are designed and delivered in accordance with applicable GITCs and Finance control requirements, rather than relying on BAU teams to make the solution compliant after go-live.
- Ensure project change and deployment activity has appropriate approvals, segregation of duties, testing evidence, cutover controls, production validation and traceability.
- Ensure access design, privileged access, role changes and segregation-of-duties considerations are addressed and approved before production implementation.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy requirements are defined and tested for new or changed interfaces, reports, data migrations, extracts and automated processes, with appropriate reconciliation and control evidence.
- Coordinate responses to internal and external audit requests relating to project delivery and ensure project control evidence is complete, accurate and available.
- Track audit findings and control deficiencies arising during delivery and ensure agreed remediation is completed or formally accepted before BAU handover.
- Ensure BAU handover identifies ongoing control owners, evidence requirements, access-review obligations and operational responsibilities.
