About Tessera Labs
Tessera is an AI-native platform for enterprise transformation. The multi-agent platform delivers governed execution across ERP, CRM, HCM, and finance systems, cutting timelines from years to weeks and costs by more than half. Built on deep expertise across Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, Workday, and other systems of record, Tessera address the scope a system integrator would have traditionally taken up with the speed of execution and efficiency of an AI-native platform.
For decades, enterprises have struggled with fragmented business systems, where migrations have consumed hundreds of millions of dollars, data stayed inconsistent and unreliable, and business processes slowed under manual review. Tessera was founded to change that, for Oracle and every other system enterprises depend on. The name itself — a tessera, a single tile in a mosaic — reflects our mission: unifying the disparate pieces of the enterprise into a coherent whole. Tessera is an AI-powered, multi-agent platform that harmonizes systems and lets teams work in plain English.
Role Summary
We are looking for an Oracle Financials Solution Architect to own Finance to Manage — General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and the close — across several customer engagements at the same time, in both Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud. You run the discovery, lead the conversations with finance leadership, architect the design, configure it with your own hands and prove it works in testing. This is not a role where the design is handed to someone else to build.
Many of our customers are not upgrading from one Oracle version to another. They come from a completely different ERP — PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, NetSuite, SAP ECC, Infor or a home-grown finance system — and the chart of accounts, subledgers, intercompany and close process have to be redesigned, not migrated. You need to be able to read the legacy finance landscape, understand how the business really closes its books, and translate that into a clean Oracle design.
You will also be one of the faces of our Oracle finance capability in front of prospects. You will run discovery calls and demos, shape solutions and estimates, contribute to proposals and statements of work, and stand in front of a CFO or controller to explain how we will get them there. Strong client communication is not a nice-to-have in this role; it is half of it. Exposure to Cost Accounting is a strong plus, because many of our customers are manufacturers and distributors where finance and costing cannot be designed apart.
You will do this work with Tessera’s AI agents, not instead of them. The platform analyses the legacy configuration and data, drafts process models and fit-gap, generates configuration and test scripts. What it cannot do is decide how many ledgers a customer really needs, or whether a legacy intercompany process is a requirement or a workaround. That judgment is the role, and every time you exercise it we expect it to go back into the platform.
Two outcomes define the job. The first is a finance solution the customer’s controller signs off and closes the books on — reconciled, auditable and simpler than what it replaced. The second is that we win and deliver the next one faster, because what you learned is captured in the platform and in our pre-sales material rather than in your head.
Key Responsibilities
1. Discovery and Solution Architecture (25%)
Lead finance discovery with the controller, accounting, AP, AR and treasury teams: read the legacy configuration, reports and close checklists, and separate real requirements from habits and workarounds.
Translate the legacy finance model into Oracle — chart of accounts and segment redesign, ledgers (primary, secondary and reporting currencies), legal entities, business units or operating units, and balancing segments.
Architect the accounting design: Subledger Accounting (EBS) and Accounting Hub rules (Fusion), intercompany, multi-currency, revaluation and translation, tax (E-Business Tax, Fusion Tax and third-party engines such as Vertex or Avalara), and financial reporting.
Own the fit-gap for Finance to Manage and the disposition of every gap — configuration, process change, extension or third-party product — with reasoning the customer can follow.
2. Hands-On Configuration and Testing in EBS and Fusion (35%)
Configure General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets and Cash Management yourself, in both EBS and Fusion — from journal sources, allocations and period close to payment processing, AutoInvoice, receipts and bank reconciliation.
In Fusion, work through Functional Setup Manager, the Enterprise Structures Configurator and rapid-implementation spreadsheets, move configuration between environments, and keep designs current with the quarterly updates.
In EBS, configure through setup forms, FNDLOAD and iSetup, and design responsibilities and roles with segregation of duties in mind.
Lead testing end to end — conference room pilots, system integration testing, UAT and defect triage — including mock month-end closes, subledger-to-GL reconciliation and trial balance comparison against the legacy system.
Where Cost Accounting is in scope, design and configure how inventory and work-in-process costs flow to the ledger: EBS Cost Management (standard, average and FIFO/LIFO costing) or Fusion Cost Management (cost organisations, cost books, cost profiles, receipt accounting and landed cost).
3. Pre-Sales and Client Leadership (25%)
Lead the finance part of pre-sales on Oracle opportunities: discovery calls, solution workshops, platform and Oracle demonstrations, and orals alongside the client partner and the Principal Architect.
Shape the solution and the estimate: scope, approach, assumptions, staffing, effort and risk — and contribute to proposals, RFP responses and statements of work.
Communicate with confidence at every level of the customer — from AP clerks in a workshop to the CFO in a steering committee — and translate technical and AI-driven work into a business narrative finance leaders trust.
Be the counterpart the client partner and Technical Program Managers come to first on finance, and give them a straight answer — including when something cannot be done in the time or budget asked.
4. Platform Enablement and Team Leadership (15%)
Contribute your Oracle finance know-how back into the Tessera platform, so the agents get better at finance discovery, configuration and testing with every engagement.
Turn field findings into reusable assets — reference chart-of-accounts designs, fit-gap libraries, configuration templates, close test scripts and pre-sales material.
Guide and review the work of Oracle finance SMEs, including offshore team members, and hold them to a consistent standard.
Required Qualifications
15+ years in Oracle Financials, including at least three full-lifecycle implementations as finance lead or solution architect, covering both Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.x) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials — at least one of each.
At least one implementation where the customer moved to Oracle from a different ERP family — for example PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, NetSuite, SAP ECC or Infor — not only an upgrade from one Oracle version to another.
Deep, hands-on configuration experience in General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets and Cash Management in both EBS and Fusion. You configure the system yourself rather than only writing the design.
Strong accounting and enterprise-structure design: chart of accounts, ledgers and legal entities, Subledger Accounting / Accounting Hub, intercompany, multi-currency and the period-end close.
Proven pre-sales experience on Oracle opportunities: discovery calls, solution demos, orals, estimates, and contributions to proposals, RFP responses and statements of work.
Excellent client communication: able to lead workshops with finance teams, present to a CFO or controller, and hold difficult conversations in a way that keeps the relationship.
Experience leading testing for finance — CRPs, SIT, UAT and mock closes with reconciliation — through to go-live and the first closes after it.
Proven ability to work on several engagements at once without losing control of any of them.
Proven ability to learn a new AI platform quickly and become the person others ask. You will be expected to reach real fluency in the Tessera platform within your first months.
Excellent verbal and written business English, with strong presentation ability to both business and technical audiences.
Experience working with distributed (onshore, nearshore and offshore) delivery teams, with strong asynchronous communication discipline.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Who This Role Is Not For
If your experience is configuring one module to a design someone else agreed, this is not the role — the work here starts with discovery and ends with a closed period. If you are an architect who no longer configures or tests yourself, you will find the hands-on share of this role uncomfortable. If you have only ever moved customers from one Oracle release to another, you will under-estimate how much of a different ERP’s finance model has to be understood before it can be replaced. And if you would rather not be in front of prospects, or see pre-sales as somebody else’s job, this role will not suit you.
Preferred Qualifications
Cost Accounting experience in EBS Cost Management or Fusion Cost Management — standard and actual costing, cost elements, receipt accounting, landed cost and the cost-to-ledger flow — and exposure to Profitability and Cost Management.
Fusion Revenue Management (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) and Advanced Collections.
Financial reporting and consolidation: FSG, Financial Reporting Center, Smart View, OTBI, and EPM or close tools such as Oracle FCCS or OneStream.
Migrations specifically from PeopleSoft, JD Edwards or SAP ECC to Oracle Fusion, including chart-of-accounts redesign and opening-balance conversion.
Manufacturing, distribution, retail or financial services industry experience.
A CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification, or an Oracle Financials certification for EBS or Fusion.
Prior experience partnering with AI, automation or RPA tooling inside an enterprise delivery context.
Spanish, Portuguese or German is a plus but not a must-have.
First-Year Measures of Success
Month 1: Fluent in the Tessera platform. Leading finance on at least one engagement and supporting at least one live Oracle pursuit in pre-sales.
Month 3: Finance design signed off and configuration underway on that engagement, a mock close completed or planned, finance pre-sales material and estimating inputs in place, and reusable finance content live in the Tessera platform.
