About us

At Viasat, the work you do helps people stay connected in ways that matter, from everyday moments to critical missions across air, land, sea, and space.

We’re a place for people who are curious, bold, and motivated by meaningful work. Here, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact, explore new possibilities, and grow your career in ways that align with your interests and goals. When you're ready to take on something new, you'll find leaders who support your development and help you turn your ambition into action.

What you'll do

The team is responsible for supporting and sustaining Viasat's Oracle EBS technical ecosystem, including customizations, interfaces, reports, extensions, integrations, concurrent programs, and supporting technologies. The team works closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Projects, and other business functions to ensure critical ERP processes operate reliably and efficiently. As part of this engagement, the team is focused on documenting technical components, reducing key-person dependency, improving supportability, and establishing a sustainable knowledge transfer model.

This role provides exposure to:

  • Enterprise-scale Oracle EBS environments supporting critical business operations.
  • Complex integrations between Oracle EBS and upstream/downstream systems.
  • Custom application development, reports, interfaces, conversions, and extensions (CEMLI components).
  • ERP governance, operational excellence, and support best practices.
  • Business continuity and knowledge management initiatives.
  • Cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Accounting, and IT organizations.

The candidate will leverage their Oracle EBS technical and business systems experience to:

  • Inventory and document customizations, integrations, reports, and technical dependencies.
  • Analyze existing technical processes and system interactions.
  • Develop technical runbooks, support procedures, and operational documentation.
  • Facilitate working sessions with functional and technical subject matter experts.
  • Create knowledge transfer materials and support cross-training efforts.
  • Identify support risks, documentation gaps, and key-person dependencies.
  • Assist in validating technical processes and recovery procedures.

The day-to-day

The day-to-day work is focused on understanding, documenting, and improving the technical landscape supporting Oracle EBS. The candidate will work closely with technical and functional teams to capture critical system knowledge, document integrations and customizations, and establish sustainable support practices. A typical day may include:

  • Meeting with Oracle EBS technical developers, functional analysts, and business stakeholders to understand system architecture and business processes.
  • Reviewing customizations, interfaces, reports, conversions, extensions (RICE objects), workflows, and concurrent programs.
  • Documenting technical designs, support procedures, system dependencies, and operational runbooks.
  • Analyzing integrations between Oracle EBS and upstream/downstream applications.
  • Identifying undocumented processes, single points of failure, and key-person dependencies.
  • Developing knowledge transfer materials and conducting cross-training sessions with support teams.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, ERP systems, or business applications.
  • Experience documenting technical processes, system configurations, or operational procedures.
  • Experience working with technical and business stakeholders to gather and validate information.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS.
  • Experience supporting system integrations, interfaces, reports, workflows, or custom applications (CEMLI).
  • Experience creating technical documentation, support runbooks, or knowledge management artifacts.
  • Experience supporting application support, production support, or operational readiness activities.
  • Familiarity with ERP architecture, business process flows, and system dependencies.

What will help you on the job

  • Experience with Oracle EBS supporting Finance, Supply Chain, Projects, or Operations.
  • Experience supporting system integrations, interfaces, reports, workflows, custom applications, or enterprise business processes.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, support runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
  • Familiarity with ERP architecture, system dependencies, data flows, and application support models.
  • Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting business-critical applications.

The strongest candidates typically:

  • Quickly understand complex technical and business processes.
  • Connect technical components to the business processes they support.
  • Identify undocumented dependencies and operational risks.
  • Create documentation that is clear, sustainable, and usable by future support teams.
  • Challenge existing support processes and recommend practical improvements.

While the immediate need is to document Oracle EBS technical assets, dependencies, and support procedures, the broader direction of the team is to:

  • Reduce key-person dependency.
  • Improve operational resiliency and business continuity / Oracle stabilization.
  • Strengthen governance and knowledge management practices.
  • Improve supportability and maintainability of enterprise applications.
  • Increase readiness for future ERP modernization and transformation initiatives.
