At KBR, we deliver science, technology and engineering solutions to governments and companies around the world. KBR employs approximately 37,000 people worldwide with customers in more than 85 countries and operations in over 28 countries. KBR is proud to work with its customers across the globe to provide technology, value-added services, and long-term operations and maintenance services to ensure consistent delivery with predictable results.

Trinzic is the future independent company to be created through the planned spin-off of KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business, expected in January 2027. Our people work at the frontier of what is possible, delivering solutions in challenging environments and advancing some of the world's highest-priority national security and space missions.

Backed by decades of mission success, deep expertise, and trusted partnerships, Trinzic will launch as a global organization with more than 18,000 employees supporting customers around the world. Join us at a defining moment and help shape the future of a company built to tackle complex challenges and make a meaningful impact.

Candidates who join KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business before the spin-off will transition to Trinzic when the separation is complete and will not need to reapply for employment.

We are seeking an experienced Orbital Analyst, Operator, and Trainer in support of SDA missions and analytical activities across a range of operational and technical efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, and SDA, along with the analytical judgement necessary to characterize satellite behavior and communicate mission-relevant findings, either as an Operator or Trainer developing subject matter expertise.

The Orbital Analyst will utilize company propriety software suite of tools to analyze historical and real-time space data, assess routine and anomalous satellite activity, and develop clear, defensible assessments to support operational and technical decision-making. The analyst may support government, commercial, and allied mission partners, including operational SDA environments such as the Joint Commercial Operations (JCO) construct, and will collaborate with KBR analysts, operators, customers, and software development personnel to improve analytical workflows, procedures, and product capabilities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as a trusted trainer and subject matter expert at the forefront of SDA, developing the next generation of operators responsible for protecting and understanding the space domain. By integrating real-world mission scenarios, historical and live space data, and emerging SDA capabilities, the ideal candidate will prepare operators and mission partners to assess satellite activity, identify anomalies, and make informed decisions in high-pressure environments. Working alongside government, commercial, allied, and JCO partners, the candidate will help cultivate mission-ready professionals while continuously advancing analytical tradecraft, operational procedures, and training methodologies that strengthen the readiness and effectiveness of the broader space enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Orbital Analysis and Space Domain Awareness

  • Apply orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, satellite state data, and perturbation concepts to analyze and characterize space object behavior.
  • Analyze historical and real-time data to identify maneuvers, patterns, trends, anomalous activity, and other mission-relevant events.
  • Evaluate orbital changes and satellite behavior to generate technical assessments, including appropriate consideration of data quality and uncertainty.
  • Communicate analytical findings through clear written products, visualizations, and technical discussions.
  • Utilize company proprietary software: Space Defense Characterization and Control (SDDCS) and/or Iron Stallion (IS) suite of SDA tools.

Mission and Customer Support

  • Collaborate with analysts, operators, government customers, commercial partners, and other mission stakeholders to address analytical needs and emerging events.
  • Translate complex orbital analysis into clear, actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to analytical procedures, workflows, training, and knowledge sharing to improve mission effectiveness.
  • Support spacecraft anomaly resolution, baseline configuration assessments, and cooperative spacecraft characterization to improve mission assurance and space system performance.

Problem-Solving and Innovation

  • Analyze historical and real-time object data to identify patterns and characterize behavior.
  • Apply creative and "outside the box" thinking to hypothesize and identify potential new capabilities or interpretations of situations.
  • Collaborate directly with the software development team and U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) stakeholders to provide analytical requirements and feedback for product refinement.

Trainer and Operations Center Support

  • Develop and deliver mission-focused training programs that cover orbital warfare analysis, SDA, and Resident Space Object (RSO) characterization to prepare Space Activity Guardians for operational missions.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and assess training events, exercises, and mission rehearsals to prepare operators to effectively employ SDA capabilities in contested and real-world operational environments; across multiple customers and classification levels.
  • Provide SDA subject matter expertise and briefings to space operators, multinational partners, and senior military leaders on the capabilities and operational use of an SDA suite of tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Astronomy, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in orbital analysis, astrodynamics, SDA, space operations, or a closely related technical field
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify relevant patterns or behaviors, and develop technically defensible conclusions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work effectively in time-sensitive operational environments
  • Proven ability to brief senior military and government leaders.
  • Experience supporting operational software tools, visualization platforms, or mission applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter in a Hybrid environment. Primary role is to serve as an OA, with the ability to flex to instruction or SPACECOM support activities. Duties include
    • Remote crew shift work support to the JCO and mission partners.
    • In-classroom assistant instructor support providing SDA software training to USSF Guardians.
    • On-site exercise and other direct support to the SPACECOM JOC and supporting operations centers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting DRAGON Army, JCO, SPACECOM, USSF, or Combatant Command missions.
  • Experience integrating commercial space capabilities into military operations.
  • Experience as a Product Owner, Operations Liaison, Exercise Planner, Mission Manager, or Operational Analyst.
  • Knowledge of Iron Stallion, SDCCS, Machina, Wide Area Vision, mission management platforms, or similar SDA tools.
  • Experience developing and presenting executive-level briefings and operational assessments.
  • Instructor training experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced SDA professional with a strong background in orbital analysis, astrodynamics, satellite characterization, and operational mission support; able to learn software SDA suite of tools to perform required mission work. They possess analytical judgement to evaluate complex space data, identify significant satellite activity, and deliver timely, technically defensible assessments in support of national security space missions. The candidate should be capable of supporting steady-state and surge operations across USSPACECOM operations centers, including augmenting JCO operations during high-priority events, contingencies, and periods of increased mission demand.

The ideal candidate works effectively with analysts, operators, software developers, and mission stakeholders to improve analytical workflows, operational procedures, and SDA capabilities. They can also translate complex technical concepts into practical instruction, deliver training on SDA tools and orbital warfare concepts, and support exercises and mission rehearsals. Strong technical expertise, sound operational judgement, communication skills, and adaptability are essential to success in this role.

Basic Compensation: $130-$190K

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
