About CloudLabs

CloudLabs is a hands-on lab platform built by Spektra Systems. Teams configure, deploy, & share managed labs on AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, or private cloud. Learners open them in a browser with nothing to install.
  • Software vendors use CloudLabs for product demos, POCs, customer/partner training and enablement.
  • Enterprises & system integrators use it to upskill teams and run hackathons.
  • Universities, EdTech companies, and Microsoft and AWS partners use it for courses, certifications, and training delivery.

Position Overview
We're seeking an Organic Content marketer with 2-3 years of content writing experience to join our marketing team.
You'll be responsible for content execution, SEO optimization, and distribution. Your focus will be on understanding our customers' problems, publishing content that answers them, improving the blog and website experience, and optimizing prospect journey on resources & website to move prospects down the funnel and generate pipeline.

This role is built to grow. In your 1st year you'll focus on execution: writing, optimizing, distributing, and reporting. As you take on planning, briefs, and funnel analysis, the role moves into content strategist. The path is laid out in the Growth Path section below.

Roles & Responsibilities

This role has 3 areas of work: content execution, SEO & distribution, and a strategy track that grows as you do.

Content Execution
  • Understand audience problems & behavior across our buyers (ISV marketers, enablement and training leads, solution engineers, educators) and match content to their buying stage.
  • Write and edit long-form content: blogs, whitepapers, case studies, newsletters, ebooks, and landing pages. Work with our presales & solution engineers to get technical topics right.
  • Ideate & execute content in line with our brand narrative, product capabilities, and market positioning.
  • Use AI to set up workflows that speed up briefs, drafts, and edits. A human edit stays on everything that ships.

SEO & GEO
  • Run keyword research and turn it into content briefs, on-page optimization, and internal links.
  • Find keywords, topic clusters, and content gaps through industry and competitor analysis. Build clusters around our use cases: demos and POCs, workshops, training labs, cloud sandboxes.
  • Optimize existing posts that have potential but underperform, for rankings, visibility in AI answers (GEO), and conversions.
  • Flag technical SEO issues that hurt visibility, such as indexing, crawlability, page speed, broken links, duplicate content, and canonical tags. Work with the web team to fix them.

Content Distribution & Reporting
  • Repurpose content into multiple formats and help teammates distribute it across social media, newsletters, sales emails, and more (e.g., blog → LinkedIn carousel → email snippet → AI video).
  • Plan distribution from the ideation phase. Set a distribution plan and a goal for each piece you publish.
  • Track performance metrics (SERP rankings, CTR, traffic, MQLs, engagement) and refine content based on what the data shows. Set up dashboards for organic traffic and content attribution with the SEO person.

Growing Into Strategy
  • You won't carry this on day one. You'll start contributing around month 6 and take on more over time.
  • Plan the content calendar with your manager, monthly at first and then quarterly, in line with inbound goals, product launches, and market trends.
  • Write content briefs for freelancers and other writers to execute.
  • Break organic pipeline targets into short-term and long-term content goals, and balance ToFu, MoFu, and BoFu content in the monthly plan.
  • Diagnose the organic funnel to find bottlenecks between search visit, MQL, and pipeline, and propose fixes.

Requirements

Must-Haves:
  • 2-3 years of experience in content writing, preferably in B2B SaaS, cloud, or technical content.
  • A portfolio of published long-form work (blogs, case studies, guides) that shows range and strong editing
  • Exceptional copywriting & creative writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Semrush or Ahrefs, or any other SEO tool.
  • A working grasp of SEO & GEO fundamentals: keyword research, on-page, internal linking.
  • Ability to structure thoughts, communicate clearly, & make compelling pitches to convince stakeholders about your decisions.
  • Be detail-oriented, analytical, and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to come up with hypotheses, experiments & reason out the results.

Good to-Have:
  • Comfort with technical topics (cloud, DevOps, training & enablement), or the curiosity to learn them fast.
  • Experience writing content briefs or working with freelancers.
  • Interest in moving into content strategy.
  • A strong bias for action in executing tasks.
  • High agency & ownership in delivering results.
  • A genuine curiosity about SaaS, SaaS products, & marketing.
  • A flair for copywriting & passion for unconventional creative expression.

Benefits

Growth Path to Content Strategist

This role is the first step on a defined path.
Year 1: Organic Content Marketer. You own execution: writing briefs & drafts, optimizing, distributing, and reporting.
Months 6-12: Strategy exposure. You build monthly plans, manage freelancers and diagnose the organic funnel with your manager.
Around 12-18 months: Content Strategist. You own the content calendar and organic pipeline targets for a segment, direct writers and freelancers, and own performance reporting. Title and compensation change with the scope.

You're ready for the move when:
You've planned and run a full quarter of content, and you can explain the results.
Other writers have executed your briefs with minimal rework.
You've found a bottleneck in the organic funnel and fixed it.

What to expect within the first year:

Within the first month
  • Get a deep understanding of the product, ICP, buyer journey, and company goals.
  • Read top-performing content (blogs, emails & landing pages) to learn brand voice.
  • Audit gaps in the content marketing funnel: traffic, engagement, conversions.
  • Align with content OKRs for the month/quarter.
  • Write and publish 1 or 2 blogs.
  • Get familiar with our tools.
  • Get to know the team. Schedule a 1-1 with as many members across functions as you can, including solution engineering, to learn how we work and how the product works.

Within 3 months
  • Publish 3-4 high-quality content pieces (blogs, guides, landing pages) every month.
  • Contribute topic ideas backed by SEO research to the editorial calendar.
  • Own distribution for all content published in each month.
  • Drive consistent traffic growth and improve engagement and quality metrics.
Within 6 months
  • Launch 1-2 SEO-driven content clusters with internal linking.
  • Optimize existing high-potential but average-performing blogs for rankings & conversions.
  • Set up reporting dashboards for organic traffic, content attribution, and funnel performance.
  • Work with your manager to plan content for a new market or campaign and help maintain the content calendar. This is your first step into strategy.

Within 12 months
  • Take on the quarterly content plan for a segment, tied to organic pipeline goals.
  • Create 1-2 flagship assets (industry report, pillar page, playbook, case study series).
  • Introduce a scalable content repurposing model for video, social, and email.
  • Write briefs and work with freelancers to scale our content throughput.
  • Develop internal playbooks for content creation, SEO, distribution, and measurement.
  • Agree with your manager on your move into the content strategist role.
