About the role In this role, you’ll assess the City’s performance against its priorities and help transform how we measure, analyse and report on results. You’ll shape future-focused systems and processes, explore AI and automation opportunities, and champion their safe and responsible use to deliver smarter, more efficient planning, performance reporting and insights. Work type: Permanent, full-time. Classification: Band 8, $125,701 pa + super. Key responsibilities include: Partner with the organisation through the Annual Planning Cycle, ensuring business and service plans are strategically aligned and cascaded consistently across the organisation. Lead the service planning component of the Annual Planning Cycle, supporting departments to develop and refine service plans that articulate service levels, demand, cost and improvement priorities. Consolidate sub-service plans into a single organisation-wide service plan, identifying opportunities for collaboration, streamlining duplication and generating insights to inform future planning and prioritisation across areas including assets, property, finance, marketing and IT. Own the integration between service planning and service reviews, sharing insights and learnings from the planning cycle to help shape and sequence the service review roadmap. Ensure service review recommendations are translated back into service plans post-review, and track and monitor the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of service review actions. Support the development of the City’s annual strategic priorities, including clear KPIs and standards of performance, and support the organisation to deliver against them. Mentor and guide team members in building professional competence and collective knowledge. About you To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business fields or significant professional experience in Commerce or Business fields in a comparable organisation. Essential Experience: Proven change management skills with the ability to be adaptable and facilitate business improvements in complex environments. Strong presentation skills, including experience with using technology/applications to present information and persuade. Well-developed writing, presentation, and speaking skills to align with stakeholders and achieve support for task outcomes.
