Job Description This is a remote position. The Opportunity: At Pentoz, we deliver transformative digital commerce solutions across industries. As an osCommerce Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining online stores using the osCommerce platform. Your role will involve customizing core functionalities, building modules, integrating third-party tools, and optimizing the overall user experience of PHP-based storefronts. You’ll work in collaboration with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, project managers, and QA engineers to bring scalable and secure eCommerce systems to life. You Will Be Responsible For: Developing and customizing osCommerce-based eCommerce websites Creating new modules, extensions, and themes to meet specific business requirements Performing upgrades, migrations, and security enhancements for legacy osCommerce stores Integrating payment gateways, shipping APIs, and ERP/CRM systems Writing clean, modular PHP code and optimizing MySQL queries for performance Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues across the application Collaborating with design and QA teams to ensure high-performance and responsive user interfaces Maintaining technical documentation and offering post-deployment support This Role Is For You If: You have 2–4 years of hands-on experience with osCommerce development You are proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript You understand the structure and workflow of the osCommerce architecture You have experience with open-source eCommerce customization and module development You are comfortable managing version control systems like Git You have strong problem-solving skills and attention to performance and security Bonus Points If You Have: Experience upgrading or migrating from older versions of osCommerce Knowledge of Bootstrap, jQuery, or AJAX for enhanced UI features Familiarity with SEO best practices and performance optimization for eCommerce sites Integration experience with third-party tools like PayPal, Stripe, FedEx, Mailchimp, or Salesforce Experience working with osCommerce forks (e.g., Phoenix, Loaded Commerce) What We Offer: Autonomy and ownership of development projects Competitive salary and performance-based incentives Fully remote and flexible working environment Exposure to multi-industry projects and global client base Opportunities for career advancement to Lead Developer or Technical Architect roles About Pentoz: Pentoz is a forward-thinking technology company committed to driving digital innovation across commerce, SaaS, and services.
