Job Description Apply now Job Title: OSP Engineering Field Tech Job Location (Short): Hammonton, NJ | Toms River, NJ Workplace Type: Field Employment Type: Hourly Unit Discover a more connected career At RJE Telecom, as an OSP Engineering Field Tech in the NJ Market area, you’ll design and manage outside plant (OSP) work orders and drawings under general supervision. You'll coordinate with the drafting and GIS teams. You'll also plan and permit new cable routes. Candidates for this position must to be located in the following areas of New Jersey - Berlin, Toms River, Hammonton, Manchester Township and Pemberton Township . This is a hybrid position located in the New Jersey market areas listed above. You will make site visits in these areas to collect data for design of outside plant (OSP) work orders. Compensation Data Salary range is from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour based on a unit pay differential What you’ll do Design and prepare outside plant work orders and associated drawings, including documentation and accurate record updates Provide estimates for work order expenditures and prepare placement, as well as joint use memos Coordinate with drafting and GIS personnel in remote offices to produce construction drawings for the network Plan, design, and obtain permits for new cable routes Design aerial and underground telecommunications plant routes Other duties as assigned What you’ll need To be 18 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience Verizon OSP Engineering experience At least two (2) years of Telecom OSP Engineering experience Proficient with Word and Excel Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record At least two years related experience and/or training Knowledge of Telecommunications industry standards Regulations for OSP facilities Aerial or underground construction methods and engineering requirements Infrastructure plans and surveys to avoid conflicts with underground obstacles to ensure installation in easements and public right of ways Government permit requirements Fiber optic counts, assignments, and splicing schematics in high-density environments VATS design AutoCAD/Microstation or Geographic Information Systems Physical abilities & exposures Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, operate vehicle, walk, use keyboard and mouse Occasionally: climb stairs and stand Connecting you to great benefits Weekly Paychecks Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, and Holidays Insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance) 401(k) w/ Company Match Stock Purchase Plan Education Reimbursement Legal Insurance Discounts on gym memberships, pet insurance, and much more!
