Role: Paid Media & SEO Manager

Type: Hourly, 12-month contract (independent contractor)

Location: Remote, with availability during EST business hours

Hours: 10 to 25 hours per week depending on business needs. Launch calendar provided in advance for planning.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Paid Media & SEO Manager to run and optimize our paid advertising and search visibility across our programs, certificates, summits and live events. This is hands-on work: building and adjusting campaigns, managing keywords, improving SEO on our site and content, and reporting on what the spend is actually returning.

You’ll work closely with our Director of Marketing & Growth, who will set priorities and bring the programs to market. Together you’ll shape campaign strategy, and you’ll own execution, optimization and reporting. Your job is to make our ad spend and search presence measurably fill programs and events at a lower cost.

About The Embody Lab

The Embody Lab is the largest global online learning platform for body-based trauma therapies. We train practitioners around the world alongside leading faculty, including Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Scott Lyons and Dr. Arielle Schwartz. More than 100,000 wellness professionals across 37 countries have trained with us.

Our work spans live workshops, on-demand courses, cohort-based certificate programs, continuing education for clinicians, summits and a thriving membership community. We operate a direct-to-consumer business model with a growing membership subscription, and we are poised to expand as global demand for accessible mental health and wellness education keeps rising.

Our audience includes therapists, coaches, wellness professionals, clinicians and individuals seeking high quality somatic education for healing and personal growth. You do not need a background in somatics, but you should care about the mission and understand how to market thoughtfully in a space where trust matters.

What you'll do

Paid campaign management

  • Develop full-funnel paid strategies, from awareness through enrollment, for certificates, courses, summits and events
  • Build, launch and manage campaigns across Google (Search, Display, YouTube, Demand Gen, Performance Max) and Meta
  • Test new channels such as LinkedIn, TikTok or Reddit, and recommend which platforms are worth a test budget
  • Own keyword strategy for paid search, including match types, negatives, search terms and Quality Score
  • Optimize targeting, bidding, budgets, placements and creative to lower CPA and grow enrollments and registrations
  • Manage spend and pacing against monthly budgets, and reallocate proactively when something is under- or overperforming
  • Develop prospecting, retargeting and lookalike audiences from site visitors, email lists and past purchasers, with appropriate consent and privacy safeguards
  • Run A/B tests on audiences, creative, copy, landing pages and campaign types, and document what you learn
  • Make sure conversion tracking is accurate across Google Ads, Meta and GA4, and troubleshoot discrepancies with internal teams or partners

SEO

  • Own the SEO strategy to grow organic traffic and program enrollments
  • Conduct keyword research to find high-intent, enrollment-focused search terms and content gaps
  • Run competitor SEO analysis to uncover keyword and content opportunities
  • Optimize program and landing pages, including titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, internal linking and alt text
  • Recommend new content and landing pages to capture high-intent searches
  • Identify technical issues (indexing, crawlability, broken links, redirects, duplicate content, structured data, mobile usability, page speed) and coordinate fixes with developers
  • Make sure new launches and site updates follow SEO best practices from the start, and stay current on algorithm and AI-driven search changes

Reporting

  • Report regularly on CPA, CPL, ROAS, conversion rates, organic traffic and revenue, with clear recommendations on where to invest next

  • Working knowledge of additional advertising platforms such as LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, or Reddit, with the ability to evaluate and test new acquisition channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute full-funnel paid media strategies, from awareness and lead generation through conversion, purchase, and customer acquisition.
  • Practical SEO experience, including keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO fundamentals, and performance analysis using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console.
