About the Opportunity

An opportunity is available for an experienced Palo Alto Subject Matter Expert to join a specialist technology solutions provider supporting enterprise customers across complex network security environments.

The successful candidate will join the professional services function, taking ownership of technical implementations, firewall migrations, advanced troubleshooting and the ongoing delivery of Palo Alto security solutions.

This position is suited to an experienced engineer with strong hands on Palo Alto expertise, the ability to lead complex technical engagements and confidence operating as a trusted technical resource for enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration and implementation of Palo Alto Networks Next Generation Firewalls across enterprise environments.
• Deliver complex firewall migrations, upgrades, technology refreshes and infrastructure deployments.
• Configure and administer Panorama for centralised firewall management, policy administration and configuration control.
• Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and act as an escalation point for complex network security incidents.
• Implement and support Palo Alto security technologies, including WildFire, GlobalProtect and Strata Cloud Manager.
• Design and maintain high availability firewall architectures, including disaster recovery configurations.
• Engage with enterprise customers to understand technical requirements, provide recommendations and deliver security solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, implementation plans, configuration standards and operational procedures.
• Support knowledge sharing and provide technical guidance to other engineers.

Skills and Experience

• Extensive hands on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Strong technical knowledge of Panorama, including centralised firewall administration and policy management.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise firewall implementations and migrations.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, routing, switching, VPNs, NAT and security policies.
• Experience with advanced firewall troubleshooting and L3/L4 escalations.
• Knowledge of Palo Alto security technologies, including WildFire, GlobalProtect and Strata Cloud Manager.
• Previous experience within a managed services provider, managed security services provider, systems integrator or professional services environment.
• Strong customer facing communication skills and the ability to operate as a technical SME.

Desirable Certifications

• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA).
• Other relevant Palo Alto Networks technical certifications.
