| Position Summary | The Paralegal provides comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys within the Office of University Counsel, with primary responsibility for contract management, legal document preparation, and office operations. This position conducts initial contract reviews for completeness, coordinates the assignment and tracking of contracts through electronic management systems, and maintains contract records and workflows to ensure efficient processing. The role also supports the New Mexico Patient Debt Reduction Program by preparing pleadings, coordinating matters with attorneys and outside counsel, managing case-related communications, tracking recovered funds, and maintaining accurate records. In addition, the position serves as a key administrative resource by scheduling meetings, managing calendars, handling correspondence, participating in departmental coordination meetings, and supporting day-to-day office operations. Lastly, this position also supports the Guardianship arrangements with the University of New Mexico Hospital. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency with legal document management systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. |

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
