Carnegie Mellon University has steadily built upon its foundations of excellence and innovation to become one of America’s leading universities. The university’s unique approach to education builds leaders and problem solvers for the changing marketplace of today and tomorrow. Carnegie Mellon’s Pre-College Programs’ holistic admission process is about more than just admitting a group of students who have the potential to succeed academically; it is about selecting students who will add their own unique voice to the CMU community.

Carnegie Mellon’s Pre-College Program is hiring several part-time application and enrollment readers for the winter and early spring of 2027 (mid-January to early/mid-April). Initial training sessions and weekly meeting attendance are expected. Readers will thoroughly evaluate application materials, helping to enroll an academically and artistically qualified Pre-College cohort. Readers will also review submitted enrollment documentation for admitted students, ensuring preparedness for program participation. Readers will also complete assigned readings/articles/materials to ensure adequate knowledge of current and historical admission/higher education information, and other tasks that may be assigned.

Readers will work approximately 17.5-20 hours per week and will have a flexible schedule. Selected candidates need to be available for training for two days in the second week of January 2027, with a regular schedule beginning the following week. Readers will use their personal computers to access the secure online application and enrollment portal to complete work assignments.
