Position Overview
Contractor Training Center, a brand of Colibri Group, is always looking to add top-quality part-time and full-time instructors to our team of dedicated professionals. Our primary goal is to educate and prepare contractors to pass their test on the first try with ease and confidence, and to give the best value of materials and instruction so that the material is easily recalled and retrieved. We are also expanding our educational offerings to provide continuing education for licensees to maintain their license status.
We are seeking an experienced electrical contractor to support content development and conduct continuing education classes for CTC’s National Electrical Continuing education program. Candidates will hold an active Electrical Contractor’s license and have extensive knowledge about the industry, regulations, and standards of practice. CTC instructors are ambassadors for both CTC and the construction industry, as most learners' first introduction to the business is through the experienced eyes of their instructor. The ideal candidate will be able to articulate concepts clearly and with authority and engage students respectfully and collaboratively.
Our current team of construction instructors average more than 10 years of experience in teaching and content development. We are looking for professionals with extensive electrical contractor knowledge, who care about people and learning and have the ability to explain complex concepts in an exciting and engaging manner. Position Requirements & Major Responsibilities
- Authoring assessment items, answers, and rationales for state electrical exams and continuing education offerings
- Authoring course presentations, tutorial videos and mini-lessons
- Teaching via Zoom and/or recording learning modules for asynchronous delivery; present materials and facilitate active discussions to increase students' knowledge and competence in the field and stay abreast of code changes.
- Observe and evaluate students' work to determine progress, provide feedback, and make suggestions for improvement.
- Enforce school policies and state regulations.
Qualifications
- All instructors shall be qualified by education or experience to teach the course, or parts of the course to which the instructor is assigned.
- Any Person with a Four-Year College Degree or Graduate Degree is qualified to teach any course within their field of study
- Any active or inactive Electrical Contractor with at least 3 years’ experience may teach any technical course within the scope of the contractor's license.
- At least 2 years’ experience interacting with the subject matter either as a contractor, inspector, engineer, program administrator or business professional.
- Previous experience in teaching, which sufficiently establishes the individual as one with public presentation skills.
