Part-Time PM

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead an organization through the transition to a new IT Managed Services Provider (MSP). This is a part-time, approximately six-month engagement supporting an East Coast client and is expected to be mostly or fully remote.

The ideal candidate has prior experience managing IT service provider transitions, MSP implementations, or similar large-scale IT transition initiatives and can effectively coordinate internal stakeholders, outgoing and incoming vendors, timelines, risks, and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from the current IT service model/provider to a new Managed Services Provider.
  
• Develop and manage the overall transition plan, timeline, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  
• Coordinate activities across internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  
• Facilitate transition meetings and maintain clear communication across all parties.
  
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation items.
  
• Oversee knowledge transfer, documentation, handoffs, and transition-readiness activities.
  
• Track progress and provide regular status updates to leadership.
  
• Help ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to ongoing IT operations.
  

Requirements

Ideal Background

• Strong IT project/program management experience.
  
• Previous experience leading an MSP transition, IT outsourcing transition, or managed services implementation.
  
• Experience coordinating multiple vendors and cross-functional IT teams.
  
• Strong project planning, risk management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  
• Comfortable independently driving a fast-moving project with senior-level stakeholders.
  
• Available approximately 25 hours per week and able to start quickly.
