The Role and the Team
Phones and broadband touch almost every member’s life, and they are a growing part of what Blue Light Card offers to our members. Our MMIB team (Motoring, Money, Insurance and Bills) is building out its phones and broadband partnerships, and we are looking for someone to help us take them further.
As a Partner Manager, you will look after your own portfolio of partner accounts, from major mobile networks to broadband providers, and take responsibility for how each one performs for us and for our members. This is a commercial role rather than a customer service one. You will build warm, trusted relationships, negotiate, and find ways to grow every partnership. You will report to one of our Category Leads, who will support you closely in your first few months and then trust you to run your accounts as your own.
Right now, a lot of the work is quick-turnaround requests. As the team gains more time and resource, you will help us move towards a more proactive approach, bringing ideas and opportunities to partners before they come to us. You will work alongside the wider partnerships team and a close-knit category team who care about getting this right.
What You’ll Do
Manage a portfolio of phones and broadband partner accounts, taking responsibility for the relationship and the commercial results of each one
Grow the value of your accounts by spotting opportunities and putting a clear commercial case to partners
Negotiate offers and terms with partners, balancing what is best for our members with what works for the business
Build trusted relationships with partners at every level, from day-to-day contacts to senior stakeholders
Choose where your time will make the biggest difference, giving our larger strategic accounts extra attention while keeping the rest of your portfolio moving
Help shift the way we work with partners from reacting to requests to planning ahead, bringing fresh ideas to the table
Track account performance, using data to understand what is working and to shape your plans
Work with colleagues across the partnerships team and wider business to deliver launches and campaigns, including our growing eSIM offer
What You’ll Bring
Hands-on experience managing partner, affiliate or client accounts, where you owned the relationship
Proven experience of growing an account and building strong, lasting relationships
Commercial awareness and comfort negotiating, with the ability to put forward a clear and persuasive case
A proactive, self-motivated approach: you are happy to get on with things without needing close direction, and you know when to ask for support
Experience managing a sizeable portfolio of accounts, ideally around 10 to 15, with sound judgement on where to focus your effort. If you have managed fewer accounts but achieved great results, we would still love to hear from you
Clear, friendly communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the common sense to work well with people at all levels
Experience in phones, broadband or telecoms, affiliate or partnership management, or a regulated sector such as insurance or finance would be a bonus, but is not essential
Our Culture
Our mission is simple: make heroes happy. Our members are real-life heroes who keep us all safe, cared for, and thriving. It’s what gets us up in the morning, what makes us want to think bigger, and create something that truly matters. By focusing on their happiness, we create amazing experiences, deliver unrivalled discounts, innovative products, and world-class service.
We don’t just follow the usual path - we look for smarter, bolder ways to deliver real impact. We take ownership, move fast, and work shoulder to shoulder to build something special.
We promote hybrid working, and value in-person collaboration so encourage time in our offices – either the HQ in Leicestershire, or London, Holborn office. The frequency and office location will vary depending on the role and team. We aim to be flexible, but we aren’t able to offer fully remote working.
Blue Light Card is an equal opportunities employer. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where different perspectives and experiences help us grow, innovate, and better reflect the communities we serve. We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills. In the event of a high number of applications, we’ll prioritise candidates who meet both the essential and desirable criteria for the role.
