About the Role
A full-service law firm is seeking an experienced partner with a portable book of business to join its expanding New Jersey and New York practices. The opportunity is open across practice areas, with a particular focus on commercial and transactional real estate, and offers a platform for client growth, collaboration, and cross-practice work.
What You'll Do
Bring and grow a portable book of business using the firm's full-service platform and cross-selling opportunities.
Develop and execute a business development plan with marketing support.
Advise clients with a practical, business-oriented approach that considers strategy, efficiency, and value.
Mentor and train associates and counsel on client matters.
For qualified real estate partners, consider department leadership opportunities as senior leadership transitions.
What We're Looking For
Eight to 15 years of experience as a partner.
A portable book with at least $500,000 in documented originations over the past two to three years, based on personally originated clients rather than institutional or relationship credit.
Experience in New Jersey commercial or transactional real estate; partners with a New York real estate focus and a book of at least $1 million are also of interest.
A stable career history, a client book that clears conflicts, and billing rates suited to a New Jersey platform.
A collaborative, collegial approach to client relationships, negotiating, and billing.
For New York-based candidates at associate or counsel level, an accompanying partner's book is required.
Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $250,000 to $500,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Hybrid role based in New York, with opportunities connected to New Jersey offices.
