The Opportunity
The Partnership Director, Curriculum is a member of K12 Coalition's Corporate Sales team focused on RedThread, a suite of K-12 curriculum solutions by Lavinia Group, a division of K12 Coalition. This role serves as a dedicated curriculum sales specialist, responsible for driving RedThread’s growth and adoption with school systems by building new partnerships and expanding its reach in the K-12 curriculum market.
This role combines strong K-12 sales expertise with a deep understanding of curriculum, district and charter needs, and the education market. The Partnership Director, Curriculum will develop and manage a pipeline of prospective partners, lead the sales process from initial outreach through close, and position RedThread’s curriculum solutions across literacy, math, intervention, assessment and test preparation, fact fluency, afterschool, and other evolving offerings in ways that connect school systems’ priorities and instructional needs to the value and outcomes of the product.
Working closely with Lavinia Group’s Product team, Marketing, and other internal partners, this role will bring market and prospective partner insights back into the organization while maintaining clear accountability for sales execution, partnership development, and revenue growth. The role will be instrumental in translating a strong and growing curriculum portfolio into meaningful partnerships with school systems.
The Partnership Director reports to the Chief Partnership Officer.
What You’ll Do
Curriculum Sales & Revenue Growth

Develop and execute a sales strategy focused specifically on Lavinia Group RedThread curriculum offerings.

Build, manage, and advance a strong pipeline of school and district/charter opportunities from prospecting through close.

Meet or exceed established revenue and sales goals for the curriculum portfolio.

Identify priority markets, districts/charters, and opportunities based on organizational strategy and market potential.

Lead consultative sales conversations that connect district instructional priorities and challenges to Lavinia Group's curriculum solutions.

Navigate complex K-12 sales cycles, including district decision-making, procurement, budgeting, and curriculum adoption processes.
Partnership Development

Build trusted relationships with district and school leaders, including academic, curriculum, instructional, and executive decision-makers.

Develop a deep understanding of prospective partners' instructional goals, student needs, and decision-making criteria.

Proactively identify and engage school systems preparing for new curriculum adoptions, and develop strategic pilot opportunities that demonstrate impact and create pathways to broader implementation.

Deliver compelling presentations, demonstrations, and proposals that clearly communicate the value and differentiation of Lavinia Group curriculum.

Represent Lavinia Group and K12 Coalition at conferences, industry events, district meetings, and other business development opportunities.

Maintain strong relationships throughout the sales process and support effective transitions to implementation and partner-facing teams following close.
Curriculum & Market Expertise

Develop deep expertise in Lavinia Group's curriculum offerings, instructional approach, evidence of impact, and competitive positioning.

Maintain knowledge of the K-12 curriculum landscape, market trends, competitors, district priorities, and emerging opportunities.

Clearly articulate how Lavinia Group's curriculum addresses instructional needs and differentiates within the market.

Gather and communicate prospective partner and market feedback to help inform positioning, product strategy, and future opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Lavinia Group Product leadership and Chief Partnership Officer to maintain strong knowledge of current offerings, product development, and roadmap priorities.

Collaborate with Marketing to strengthen curriculum positioning, sales enablement resources, campaigns, and go-to-market efforts.

Partner with Sales leadership, other Partnership Directors, and state- and regional-level teams to coordinate sales strategy, align on opportunities, and identify cross-selling opportunities across K12 Coalition.

Provide actionable market and customer insights to Product and organizational leadership while maintaining clear ownership of the sales process.

Collaborate across teams to ensure commitments made during the sales process are aligned with product capabilities and implementation expectations.
Sales Operations & Forecasting

Maintain accurate pipeline, opportunity, activity, and forecasting information within the company's CRM.

Provide regular visibility into curriculum pipeline health, sales activity, market feedback, barriers, and opportunities.

Use sales and market data to prioritize efforts and continuously strengthen the curriculum sales approach.
Other Duties

Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Bachelor's degree required.
-
5+ years of successful K-12 education sales, business development, or partnerships experience, including direct experience selling curriculum and instructional products to schools and districts.

Demonstrated success developing new business, managing a sales pipeline, and closing complex K-12 opportunities.

Strong understanding of school and district purchasing processes, decision-making structures, budgeting cycles, and/or curriculum adoption processes.

Ability to understand curriculum and instructional products and translate their features, evidence, and outcomes into compelling value propositions for school and district leaders.

Experience building relationships with senior district and school decision-makers.

Strong consultative selling, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.

Ability to understand market dynamics and competitive offerings and use those insights to inform sales strategy and positioning.

Strong business acumen with the ability to manage pipeline, forecasting, and revenue goals.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
