We are looking for highly organised, proactive Patent Paralegals to provide end-to-end patent formality support to Patent Attorneys and business partners across a global portfolio. In this role, you will help protect and manage innovation by ensuring that patent filings, prosecution activities and related formalities are completed accurately, efficiently and on time. You will manage an allocated portfolio alongside designated attorney(s), while contributing to consistent ways of working and continuous improvement across the wider patent team.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage patent filing and prosecution formalities, including priority applications, foreign filings, national phase entries, validations, oppositions and appeals.
  • Prepare, submit and administer patent documentation, forms, fees, certified copies, filing receipts, examination requests, assignments, declarations and powers of attorney.
  • Maintain accurate records and use patent administration systems to monitor deadlines and progress matters.
  • Provide reports, respond to queries and prepare cost estimates to support Patent Attorneys and business partners.
  • Deliver work in line with agreed service levels, quality standards and deadlines
  • Act as a specialist or process champion in assigned areas, supporting best practice, process enhancements and relationships with external service providers
  • Participate in projects and contribute ideas that improve efficiency, consistency and quality of patent support services.
  • Patent Paralegal qualification, or equivalent practical experience, with 2 + years’ experience in a Patent Paralegal or similar role.
  • Practical knowledge of the patenting process across US, EP and PCT systems.
  • Experience using computer-based patent administration systems.
  • Strong planning, organisational,written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritise multiple tasks, manage deadlines and work accurately under time constraints.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions and implement practical actions.
  • Sound analytical and critical-thinking skills, alongside a professional approach to confidential information.
  • A collaborative, accountable and adaptable way of working.

This is an opportunity to work as part of a global patent paralegal team, partnering with highly qualified and experienced colleagues. You will take meaningful responsibility for an international portfolio, build specialist expertise across patent processes and systems, and contribute to the ongoing development of how the team works.
