We are looking for a proactive, business-oriented Payment Operations Specialist who will take ownership of our payment infrastructure and billing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing payment performance, improving acceptance rates, managing relationships with payment providers, and ensuring smooth billing operations. Your Key Responsibilities: Payments Infrastructure Management Ensure the stable operation of the payment infrastructure and maintain high payment processing quality Work with the payment orchestration platform and support its effective configuration Manage the implementation of new payment methods, providers, and payment configurations Payment Provider Management Build and maintain effective relationships with payment providers, acquiring banks, and other vendors Coordinate the resolution of operational issues, incidents, and payment processing problems Drive and support initiatives aimed at improving payment performance Monitor provider performance and evaluate their effectiveness Payments Performance Optimization Analyze acceptance rates and key payment decline reasons Identify opportunities to improve payment conversion and implement optimization initiatives Analyze retry logic performance and optimize payment recovery strategies Monitor key payment metrics and ensure their ongoing stability Billing & Recurring Payments Administer and maintain the billing system Ensure the smooth operation of recurring payments, subscriptions, and billing flows Analyze the impact of billing changes on payment performance and customer experience Data-Driven Decision Making Analyze payment data and provide actionable recommendations to improve payment processes Prepare regular reports on core payment KPIs Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, Risk, and Engineering teams to deliver payment-related initiatives What we’re looking for: 3+ years of experience in Payment Operations, Payments Management, or Billing Operations Strong understanding of the online payment lifecycle, card processing, and billing systems Hands-on experience working with payment orchestration platforms (experience of working with Solidgate is an asset) Experience configuring payment routing and a solid understanding of payment routing strategies Experience working directly with payment providers and resolving operational payment issues Experience optimizing payment conversion and improving acceptance rates Hands-on experience with recurring payments and subscription-based business models Good understanding of key payment metrics (including acceptance rate, decline rate, and retry logic) Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions Proficiency in Excel; SQL knowledge is considered a plus High level of ownership, proactivity, and excellent communication skills Nice to Have Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) Experience in SaaS or subscription-based products Understanding of Fraud Prevention and Risk Management processes Why it’s exciting to work with us: Work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to building AI-powered tools Join a strong A-level team that motivates you to grow and achieve more Remote-first approach: work from anywhere, with the option to visit our offices in Warsaw and Kyiv Paid day offs and sick leaves — we care about your work-life balance Regular performance reviews to ensure your growth is transparent and rewarded Financial support — consultations for private entrepreneurs from our dedicated finance team Recruitment process: Intro call > Hiring Team Interview > Final Interview > Reference Check > Offer If you're excited about optimizing payment operations and building scalable payment solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
